This place was amazing. Everyone was so nice and one big family. Our waitress was very sweet. The food was unbelievable, best food my family has ever had by far! I have been craving the Steak Fritas for weeks now!! My dad had the octopus...More

We had heard good things about Wickman House, and decided to see if we might beat the odds and get a reservation. No such luck on line, however we stopped by in the early afternoon since we were in the neighborhood. The friendly staff person...More

We lucked out with getting the last available table on very short notice, and glad we did! They partnered with Outstanding in the Field a few nights prior, so we decided to check them out. Crafted cocktails, excellent wine list, and a wonderful menu. We...More

Swedish immigrant named Andrew Wickman was the first owner and current owners are trying to keep estate in style. Because we came a little bit early we walk around and look for apple trees and garden-beds around house. Big outside gazebo is used as outside...More

First let me say the food at Wickman House is great. The setting is beautiful, it is an old home with many rooms for dinning and a beautiful outside gazebo. However here is what earned them a 3 star rating. The service stinks! From the...More

The cocktails are made from scratch and the offering are quite varied. The chef uses a lot of local ingredients to fashion some very intriguing dishes and creative specials. The se gets are attentive and fun, the owner visible and helpful, and it all contributes...More

One year ago we came to Wickman for first time and thought the food was great. But we noted it took FOREVER to get our starter cocktail served. One year later, exactly same story. Food great. But once again took forever to get starter cocktail...More

We approach the restaurant along a lovely landscaped walkway, past the gazebo bar (which tempts us, but we have reservations inside). We are seated in the homelike dining room and greeted by Jeffrey, truly one of the most enjoyable waiters who we have EVER been...More

Had a wonderful dinner. Server was very friendly and accommodating. All the employees seemed very upbeat from what I observed. They made us feel very welcome even though we did not have a reservation. My husband had the pork chop and was very happy with...More

Didn't really look like a restaurant from the outside. Entrance was kind of funky. But once we sat down, we had the best dinner of our Door County vacation. I had the fettuccine with lamb sausage. I would kill to eat this again. It was...More

After a day spent driving we went in very casual clothes. We felt pretty out of place... would probably recommend dressing up a bit more than shorts and tee shirts.

Wickman House is located in a historic lodge in Ellison Bay, Door County. Offering sandwiches from Paying tribute to the property's original owners and namesake, this historical landmark was reborn as Wickman House in 2012. The renovation and design of the property are dedicated to restoring its history with an eclectic blend of original decor from the early 1920's. Also true to the property's original purpose: the restaurant's focus is on sustainable agriculture, featuring a menu inspired by fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from local farms and gardens. Finally, the property's enhanced space strives to be a true gathering place, much like The Ellison Bay Lodge was nearly a century ago. The proprietors, chefs, and staff at Wickman House strive to provide their guests with the ultimate dining experience through professional service and the use of only fresh, sustainable foods. All seafood is humanely harvested and sustainably considered. Nearly all ingredients not arriving from the sea come from local Wisconsin farms, artisans, and growers. All baked goods, desserts, sauces, stocks, and soups are made in house from scratch, just the way the Wickman Family would have wanted.
