Great beer, good food, fantastic music, and you feel like you've gone back in time. What else do you need on a mountain vacation?

We stopped in for lunch and enjoyed our sandwiches. The menu is small but the food was pretty good. They have a good selection of beers to pick from. Also, have a lot of music acts that come through here. This appears to have been an old supply store and has a nice old feel to it. We would recommend... More

Had a wonderful meal, had the brisket special and it was amazing. Not sure about anything on the regular menu but great little place and wish we had been there for the live music.

We have trekked here from DC, come here on New Years, been here summer and winter. The music groups are great, and we have seen many. The food is terrific, and we normally take our visitors here when they visit us. Now that we r local we come over for lunch and the free music on Sunday. You need to... More

I am not sure how I have lived in WV my whole life and never been to the Purple Fiddle! I won't say the place is overly welcoming, we definitely felt like outsiders, but I definitely enjoyed the time we were there. Small food menu (with mediocre food), but they aren't in the food business. The music is phenomenal and... More

Stopped in for lunch this time & had huge delicious sandwiches. Reasonably priced with a wide variety of beer & wine. Very nostalgic interesting place every time we have stopped there.

An charming venue for live music at an incredibly affordable price (usually 10-15 dollar cover). I always enjoy going to shows here and the beer selection includes a wide variety of choices including many local brews.

We have intended to come here to hear the music every time we stay in Timberline, but somehow just never made it. It was a fun evening , packed. They don't take reservations and we forgot to ask how far in advance we should arrive. We got there at 7;30'for an 8:30 performance & a table opened up. Lots of... More

Very fun and interesting place. Live music frequently. We were there for a late Saturday afternoon lunch and the music was delightful as well as very original food options.

Music, food and atmosphere is wonderful in this small town located in the mountains of West Virginia. The beer selection is not bad as well. Weekend music requires an entrance fee during the evenings.
