Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This cafe came highly recommended by the host at our bed & breakfast and we were not disappointed. Beautiful coffee, fantastic savoury fare but the highlight were the sweet pastries we had. I am a massive, self-confessed food snob and can confidently say that I have not enjoyed a lemon curd tart or French vanilla slice as much as I did at The Flying Apron. House-made pastry that was buttery and crumbly, decadent fillings that were fresh and delicious, so much so that we went back the following day for more! Highly recommended but go early in the day as they're super popular with both locals and visitors alike.

The cakes and pastries looked divine, but I was watching what I ate, so I ordered 2 coffees and the coffee was great. We rented the little cottage at the back of the pastry shop and the owner of the patisserie delivered the coffee to us - now that is service. A must to visit this delightful little patisserie which is obviously very popular, as it was always full.

I have driven past this place for over a year and only bothered to stop by in December because they were open so early as I was passing through. It's hard to go past their salmon tart. I also treated myself with a Robert Gordon travelling coffee mug.

Wow, I did not expect to find such quality pastries and cakes in this part of the Victorian countryside. Swiss trained pastry chef I found out and it shows. Would highly recommend a stop here on the way to Warburton.

Fist time there yesterday with friends and I'll definitely be back. So many delicious options to choose from. I had the sausage roll and Pear, chocolate, frangipani & walnut tart and it was absolutely divine! I bought some cakes to take home and have enjoyed every one of them. Well worth the beautiful drive there. Food is amazing, service friendly and quick and prices reasonable. Highly recommend!!

2nd visit here f both times have been great. Good selection of foods from pies to savouries with salads & made on site, even a gourmet cheese shop for a take away platter to sit on the Yarra & nibble at. Staff very helpful & friendly. Prices very reasonable. Seating inside or out front under the shade of a big tree. Well worth a visit not far from Warburton.

Nice people, nice coffee. They didn't have caramel syrup but I survived. The sausage roll was nice, the younger girl who worked there (I assume she's the daughter) is cute. If I move there as planned I'm sure I'll be back all the time.

The food and coffee is amazing, the quality of everything is just so damn good. I don’t usually even like quiche but the vegetarian quiche is mouth watering. Staff always up for a little bit of banter even when it’s busy, always a great vibe amongst the regulars. 10/10 would recommend.

If you want melt in your mouth pastry, fresh fillings, and exquisite taste sensations, this place is worth the trip along Warburton Hwy. A petite treasure which I am reluctant to share but I cannot keep wanting to tell everyone how good food should be, don’t waste your calories on bad bakes.....come here and indulge all your senses!

Heard about this place from some locals. Their pies are the best ever - pastry that melts in your mouth with delicious fillings. Great relishes, desserts, cakes, coffee as well. A great little place to stop on the Warburton highway.

The flying apron is a breath of fresh air for the culinary starved locals of the area who can now go and have a decent coffee along with an amazing selection of pastry delights baked in house. You won’t find anything like this in the area, so do yourself a favor and stop your car, pull over, and enjoy your time here. Well done.

I stopped here on the way home from Warburton and purchased Veggie Pasties, and some Turkish bread rolls for the troops at home. The amount of fillings in both the pasties and rolls was plentiful and sooo tasty. The owner also gave me a bag of home made biscuits which were awesome. The cakes also looked divine. It is well worth a visit.
