Melrose has a good reputation but a restaurant needs to keep earning that. My NY strip was tough and not medium rare as I ordered it. It was too thin a cut to be cooked properly. The veggies were greasy and not what I expected. The waitress had to read the specials off the wall. Tacky for this price point.... More

It likes to compare itself to the great steak houses across the country. And while its steaks are very good, they still have a long ways to go to get to the next level. I ordered a medium rare, and they over cooked it to medium, and the really cooked away the natural tenderness of what the cut of the... More

This place is fabulous. Renton's hidden gem---fabulous food, great service, a wait sometimes long. If single they will sit you at the bar, which is fun to watch all of the hustle and bustle of the place

That was easily one of the best meals I'd had in quite a while. Was more than I usually spend on dinner, but it was worth it. I just wish these guys were open for lunch, although I probably would not have the time.

Great food and atmosphere. The waits for tables can be long, but worth the wait. Not your chain restaurant which makes it even more special. Service is toip notch as well. You won't be disappointed!

Have gone numerous times to Melrose over the years, and while I love the old ambiance and great bar, seems like the food has gone slowly downhill. While years ago it could have been said that their steak was one of the best in Seattle, my last few times it has been a disappointment. I'm always hoping it'll get better.... More

Great local steak house. We've been customers on and off since it started and went back again recently to celebrate a birthday. Per past experience, we expected it to be pretty good but the last couple of visits indicates that they've upped their game. Meal was superb--great steak and very good sides, although a little salty for my wife. Their... More

Description
Renton’s Finest Foods Since 1901! * Steakhouse voted #1 Western WA in 2010 * Affordable high quality menu *Historic Landmark in Renton The building in which the Melrose Grill resides was established in 1901 and has served as a tavern since the days of the horse and buggy. It also operated as a pool hall, soda shop and card room during Prohibition. Recently restored, Melrose Grill kept its historic roots with the original mirror-backed bar with its rich, dark woods. The walls showcase vintage photos that highlight the transitions this grand building has gone through. With wainscoting on the walls, low-slung lamps and high ceilings the space feels as open as the West was when it was built. The Food and Service at Melrose Grill will amaze and delight your senses. We work hard to provide our customers with the finest foods available, and prepare them in a way that will tame even most particular palate. Voted #1 Steakhouse in Western WA by King 5 & Evening Ma.
