We had a great dinner. Food was delicious. The one complaint was the service was a little slow. Our waiter needed to be flagged down for us to have more wine.

The food was fabulous. Sampled from several plates and would have been happy to order any of them. Great atmosphere and staff. Reasonable and a wonderfully varied choice of German cuisine.

Fantastic first lunch in Leavenworth! My son ordered the giant pretzel as his meal- and it was certainly giant, not for the small bellies! The kids meal was adorable, real food too! Best part personally was that they had taken the time and thought about...More

We totally enjoyed our visit here during Maifest. Even though it was very busy, they seated us quickly, and made the whole meal a fun one. There was live music which kept the noise level up, but it definitely fit the ambiance. Would eat here...More

This was a wonderful authentic German restaurant. Where my husband is standing is the bar made to resemble a stable by the owner who has her horses in the parades. The food was fabulous. The homemade kraut, sausage, potato salad and pretzel roll was yummy....More

We had dinner here and it was delicious. There were four of us and we all tried something different. Everything was great. The atmosphere was just what I imagine that a restaurant in a quaint Bavarian town would be like.

This family-owned business has been bringing Bavaria to Leavenworth for over 25 years. The chef, Anita Hamilton, has been personally overseeing the kitchen since 1991 and is a native of Germany. The made-from-scratch desserts, soups and entrees are reminiscent of traditional Gasthaus fare. The owner, Heidi Forchemer, travels to Germany yearly for new menu ideas. Her son, Max, can be heard playing his button accordion most weekends, along with other local musicians, such as Tom Tilton of the Alpenfolk band. It simply doesn't get more authentic than this!
