I'll be brief, because my sentiments seem already on the site here. This is a perfect family Mexican place, different from the norm in USA because it's menu is regional Michoacán Mexican. Everything is very good. But to spin away from American-typical, do consider things like the Carnitas, Chile Verde (spicy), Tamales, or the soups like Carne En Su Jugo,... More

The service was great and food was really yummy. Don't be afraid to eat there even though the building was not so nice outside it was delicious.

Stopped here on our way from Portland to Seattle. We were so glad we did. Friendly place with delicious food. Ordered the special for the day - beef with red chili sauce, that was some of the best red chili I have ever had. Also we had the pork carnitas, which were tender, juicy, and very flavorful. Homemade tortillas and... More

We were staying overnight in Centralia, en route from Portland to Vancouver. A search on TripAdvisor indicated that La Tarasca Restaurant might be a great choice for our evening meal. On arrival, we learned that La Tarasca features the authentic cuisine of Michoacan, a state in West Central Mexico. During visits to three other Mexican states, we’d enjoyed many fresh,... More

Extremely kind staff were gracious to my friend when I was really late on the way between Portland and Seattle. THE FOOD WAS GREAT! I haven't had good Mexican food for years since I've been living in the Midwest. Many thanks, La Tarasca!

Friends recommended we have lunch at La Tarasca on our drive between Seattle and Portland, and boy were they ever right! We had a quick lunch and the service could not have been more friendly. Mexican pickled carrots are served in lieu of chips and they did not disappoint. They were so good, I tried to by some to take... More

Fluffy melt-in-your-mouth house made tortillas form the basis of delicious soft tacos. Adobada (pork in chile sauce) tacos have succulently layered flavors. Unforgettable! Friendly and efficient service. Family run restaurant that takes pride in sharing personal recipes handed down from generations before. What a find! PS Save room for the flan. Perfect way to top off a fabulous lunch.

They're posole was as good today as it was when I had it 10 years ago! This is a must stop during our commute from Portland to Seattle. Big plus - totally gluten free menu!

Best Mexican food I've had since I was traveling through Baja California on a mission trip. Small place, casual Mexican cafe atmosphere, very busy--We waited for about 5 min for a table on a Monday evening, absolutely worth it. Tortillas were fantastic. Staff is great. Magic happening in the kitchen. I had the chile Colorado and it was amazing, and... More
