What a great place! The house was fantastic, the food was awesome, especially the biscuits! I even liked the little antique shop. All the workers were so nice and friendly, even the store kitty liked to be petted.

I'm partial to chicken and dumplings, and always try it if it's on the menu. Normally, I'm disappointed because they can never compare to the dish homemade. This place is the exception - their chicken and dumplings are absolutely delicious. The restaurant is homey, and clearly popular, as it can get very busy. However, it's definitely worth any wait.

A local suggested this place when I said I was looking for a dessert place with coconut pie. The pie was delicious, the quaint ambiance was great, the gift store a neat little surprise. Went back a second time for lunch, it was amazing. A new favorite place to add to the list.

Love the Smithfield Ham on Country Biscuits set in a period decor. Add the fruit salad and homemade pie and you are in heaven. A must stop on the way to Jamestown.

Wonderful, locally owned Breakfast/lunch restaurant. They feature colonial recipes and local produced Edwards Ham Co. Products. Chicken and dumplings are very special and so is Brunswick Stew and the huge Ham biscuits. Save room for their home made pies, my favorite is buttermilk! Breakfast was excellent , I suggest their creamed sauce with ham bits over their biscuits and a... More

We're locals, been here a number of times. Nice people, good service, good food. Biscuits are terrible. Not fluffy southern style, not sure what style. We felt rushed by the server. She was nice, but made us feel like we had to hurry. She went away quickly when we were trying to figure out what we wanted. It was ok,... More

Even though we live in the area, we just didn't go there until a few friends wanted to go for breakfast/brunch after church. I found the service to be poor and the portions were too small for the cost. I have never gone back.

Went here for lunch before beginning our tour of the Jamestown and Yorktown area. Arrived about 15 or 20 minutes past noon. Very crowded and had to wait about 20 minutes, but it was definitely worth the wait. Terrie had the chicken and dumplings, our daughter had the BLT and I had Miss Melodies special. It was all very good. Terries... More
