I had a pretty amazing experience at this restaurant. I was staying at the Inn on a Wednesday and a Thursday night, and made a dinner reservation for Thursday night. I was the only there. I got a table right in front of the fire and had the dining room to myself all night. I had the five-course dinner, and... More

Service was spot-on and the meal was wonderful! Innovative menu well executed, and delicious; extensive wine list, with nice price point range.

After seeing a menu that looked exceptional, we were very excited to try this restaurant out during our stay at the inn. Unfortunately, it took about 30 minutes after receiving bread and water for our appetizer to come out and then another 30-45 minutes for our main course to come out. Consequently, our food was luke warm to cold and... More

Our four and five course prefix menus begin with an amuse bouche, than two appetizers, main course(s), pre-dessert, dessert and mignardise. The portions are smaller and balanced over the course of the meal in traditional French rigor, so guests are left satisfied, but not stuffed. The chef would have been happy to hear your criticisms or prepare a dish again... More

We were visiting the area to see what VA wineries have to offer and this was one of the lodging sites we considered. They were sold out for the weekend, but we were able to get dinner reservations. The dining room was lovely with large windows and nice linens. Choices included a full tasting menu or a 4 or 5... More

Thank you for your review, we hope you'll return to experience our new bar & lounge too! There, we feature a brasserie style a la carte menu for more casual dining. Whereas , the fine-dining restaurant prefix menus follow a classic French rigor with modern farm to table flair- hence the smaller portions over a greater number of courses to... More

Not truly great farm to table at really over the top, borderline insane prices. If you're into playing pretend that a restaurant is great and you want to just basically pay a lot to eat somewhere that most people can't you will love this place. If, however, you enjoy truly good farm to table food, with people who know how... More

We believe most people will find your review misinformed and offensive, calling our 35 years of successful business and support of local farm & fare a "trap". The chicken entree from our prefix menu you mentioned is locally sourced from Whiffle Tree Farm who we have proudly been serving for over a year now with ever-growing demand for their delicious... It has been many years since we last ate at l'Auberge Provencale. We need to do this more often. Since our last visit, they have added a nice bar area. We switched from the dining room, with its prix fixe and tasting menus, to the a la carte menu in the bar. A warm spinach salad to start, followed by... More

After our friend's daughter's wedding in (Berryville) Winchester, we enjoyed the fall foliage on a wonderfully warm and sunny Fall day. The hostess seated us around 2:30pm and we had the place to ourselves. The menu was limited but varied and the Chef accommodated my wife's piscetarian preferences without blinking an eye. I would highly recommend the restaurant and can't... More

If you enjoy tasting menus paired with excellent wine, this is an experience you don't want to miss. One suggestion, stay at the Inn because I would not want to navigate those country roads after 7-courses of food and wine.

I dined in the Inn's restaurant two successive nights and, while the quality of the ingredients and the combinations on the plate were great, the menu really barely changed. As the variety of dishes is limited, though the types of dishes do change seasonally to reflect available local produce, etc, I think I would have been better satisfied not dining there... More

Thank you for your review! We are glad to hear you enjoyed your meals with us, and for your future stays we recommend dining in our bar & lounge for your second meal.
