As other reviews have noted, the decor is trashy--I could see a moving dolly near the front door on the way in. There was a pile of stuff behind it in a corner. On the way to my table there was a spare chair stacked with coffee table books about Great Britain and Scotland. It was early, but there was... More

The food was not bad, small, clean, and good service. Was it memorable, not really I'm afraid. Won't be going back but it was a nice place to visit at least once.

First and foremost, DO NOT judge this restaurant by it's cur side appearance. My business associate and myself almost made this mistake. Had we driven off we would have missed what turned out to be the highlight of our business trip to Virginia Beach. We decided to check this place out, have one beer and then maybe go somewhere else... More

Had Haggis and girlfriend order Bangers both were very good. Haggis as expected had a strong flavor which I had with the brown sauce instead of ketchup. Bangers were very good and were not at all greasy. Drank Old Speckled Hen which turned out to be excellent. Will be back to try the fish n chips and Shepherds Pie everyone... More

When I visit Virginia Beach, I am always looking for that restaurant that is outside the box and this hidden gem is an example. If you are into British, Irish or Scottish food this is the place. The restaurant is a small family owed establishment, a little off the main drag, but worth the effort to enjoy a restaurant that... More

Great food, I had the fish (cod) and chips , my wife tried the cottage pie and loved it. Definitely a do-over! One of the cleanest restaurants we have ever eaten in.

I went there for the first time because I had a living social to send $30 dollars. First they were not going to let me use it because I was by myself. They said that it was for two people. It was not written anywhere on the paper that I needed to have someone with me to use it. I... More

I have been here twice this month with friends and thoroughly enjoyed it. The Fish and chip was outstanding and well portioned. Both times the owner/chef came out to greet everyone. Everyone was extremely friendly and I look forward to the next time I am in the area.

The Highlander is a traditional Scottish pub - not a large place, but very cozy and an excellent place for a romantic dinner. They serve most foods from Scotch Eggs to Haggis to Bangers and Mash to Fish and Chips. They also have a nice variety of hard ciders, beers, wines, liquors, as well as non-alcoholic beverages. On Wednesday nights... More
