This tavern was recommended to me by a clerk at my hotel. The drive to the location is lovely and full of charm, and made the trip worthwhile. The tavern is full of character and they serve traditional pub fare. The menu was enticing with...More

I am vegetarian and they have great options for me as well as amazing hot bread and butter! It is casual fun atmosphere and can usually squeeze in walk-ins as well as I once had a private room for a birthday party.

We had a delicious dinner and sat outside under the tent. It was comfortable and the service was quick. Food is ordered inside at a window and then brought to your table. I would return if in the area.

We love the Hunter's Head Tavern. I used to work in the U.K. so it takes me right back to my days in England. The atmosphere is great and the food is delicious. The only drawbacks for us is that it is a limited menu...More

Unfortunately we didn't make reservations but were seated upstairs. The surroundings and furniture reflected the age of the building and it was evident a lot had gone into to make it as comfortable as possible. Considering we were upstairs the staff was very attentive. The...More

Small town about 15 miles outside of the more prominent Middleburg destination. The place has a small, quite well stocked, bar and in addition to the inside tavern seating there is a large outdoor tented area reminiscent of a biergarten. We made reservations through Open...More

We lived in Great Britain for a number of years. The Hunter's Head Tavern reminded us of our forays into the English countryside. What fun! The setting was perfect for us. But you don't get an excellent rating on a building. Let's face it, you...More

On a trip to the area to visit family, we stopped at the Hunter's Head for drinks and had a nice experience sitting at the bar for a quick drink. On our way out, we saw a sign advertising that they do afternoon tea. We...More

My wife and I discovered The Hunters Head Tavern as we headed west after a weeks worth of meetings in Washington DC. We visit DC occasionally, and every time we leave the city, we stop at the Hunters Head. The contrast from the fervor of...More

James & Sigrid M
We do have dinner reservations for Thursday evening under Sampedro, 7 persons. Our guest of honor, graduating from Middleburg Academy is a total vegetarian, no cheese, nor eggs or butter. Can you come up with a nice menu for her? Thanks for your help. Sigrid, grandmother of Jennifer, the vegetarian.

Well, they may not be "gourmet", in some other reviewers' words, but at our recent lunch, my friend and neighbor had a terrific, delicious dish of a trio of vegetarian salads, so I think they know vegetarian, and if you ask... More
