The outside ad says best Mexican food in Richmond. I can't say as I didn't try every one, but this one was/is very good. The chips were served hot and immediately with a cute little jar of salsa on the side. The service and the food were excellent (enchiladas Supreme lunch special) and the water glass was kept full. My only reservation (no pun intended) was that the waiter hovered with his little machine waiting for me to pay even though I wasn't using plastic. I don't like figuring out tips while the waiter watches....just tell me the total and walk away. I'll figure it out.

The staff saved the day

A large family gathering, for which we apparently wildly underestimated the number for the reservation. As people kept showing up, the staff worked tirelessly and patiently to find tables and chairs for everyone. They managed to keep everyone's orders straight as far as I've heard, and they were never rude or even short-tempered no matter how many guests popped up. The food was okay but not especially memorable. The staff, however, was heroic.

Lived up to expectations!

I ate here twice while catching a flight from Richmond International Airport. My flight was delayed the first day so I returned again for a second meal at Mexico Restaurant since the first one was so enjoyable!! The food was excellent and authentic and the service was also excellent. It’s very popular with the locals and easy to see why. Good value, good food and friendly courteous staff made it a very pleasant experience both times. Highly recommended!

Mid food terrible service dismissive manager

Underwhelming food. I live in California so maybe my bar is a little high but the food was not of quality. The service matches the subpar food. Ramon was my server came in around 3 and was seated. I waited and had to flag down the host for water refill as Ramon seemed busy tending to the 2 tables in the restaurant. When my water was brought back I asked the host to ask him for my receipt as I wasn’t getting tended to so I wanted to pay for my food . He assured me and as he was assuring me Ramon came up and agreed as he told him in front of me. After about ten minutes I walked up to the manager and expressed I didn’t get my check and had told 2 people 2 times. I explained I used to be a server therefore I am very understanding however the service was unacceptable. Very dismissive he kept assuring me it wasn’t like him and never apologized for the service I received instead he kept challenging my events even noting Ramon told him I was on the phone so he didn’t check on me. Instead of just apologizing for my experience the manager indirectly invalidated my experience as well as the chain of events . If you are looking for authentic Mexican cuisine u will be disappointed. It is mediocre at absolute best

Decided to follow the crowd on a Wednesday night this place was packed. After ordering our food I could understand why, I thought we had crossed the border to eat authentic food.

Great place

Went here twice on our weekend get away to Richmond. Got something different both times and enjoyed both meals. It was crowded and tables are sort of close together was the only drawback.

Very Good Mexican Restaurant

Great little Mexican restaurant. Loved their salsa and chips! I ordered cheese enchiladas rice and beans and received it within 10 minutes hot and delicious.

Fantastic meal

Tacos and burritos are excellent for lunch. Very flavorful and plenty. Outside patio with socially distanced table is the best option these days.

Excellent Mexican!

We should have gotten the table side guac but everything except my grandsons chicken tenders was very good and plentiful. Excellent service, hot chips and good salsa.

Do yourself a favor and eat HERE

Walked over from Fairfield on recommendation from the front desk. Prompt friendly service and the white con queso is heavenly. Had Avocado fries which were incredible but watch out for the bed of lettuce they serve them on because it was eie chawowa hot! Salsa excellent. Had Tampico salad, again excellent. Very nice restaurant. Will come again of overnight.

Great blackened tilapia

Great service, guacamole, salsa, and blackened tilapia. My only recommendation is to get a new Mezcal as the one I tried was bad. When I’m back in town I will definitely be back.

This was my father in laws favorite Mexican restaurant. I finally took my daughter and her family there. My father in laws died a few years ago. The restaurant still serve a great chimichanga . My daughter had chicken tacos and they were at a very good price being Tuesday. The meals were good and we enjoyed ourselves. Service was very good. Price was not bad. You di get chips and salsa before the meal.

Fresh Tasty Mexican Food!

Very tasty meal. Nice portions and tasted fresh. We are glad we decided to try it! The chips were hot and tasty. The service was wonderful and priced very well.

Good Mexican restaurant - good food, Margaritas and service

We didn't get to the restaurant till 9PM on a tuesday, expecting it to be empty. It was packed and busy. Tuesday happened to be $1 taco night, so maybe that's what brought everyone in. Fajitas were good; Hard and soft tacos were good; enchiladas were average.The house Lime Margarita is a bit light for my taste. I upgraded the tequilla and it was far better. Overall, a solid Mexican place with good service.
