About
Nearly two centuries ago, the first grapevines were planted at Kerikeri That was the work of Samuel Marsden, the driving force behind the establishment of Anglican mission stations in New Zealand. Nearly two decades ago, Rod and Cindy MacIvor followed in his footsteps with the establishment of the vineyard and wine estate they named after him. Marsden Estate is youthful by comparison, but the vineyard, the gardens and the estate building look well settled into the sub-tropical landscape of New Zealand’s Far North. Just a few minutes’ drive from Kerikeri village, Marsden Estate offers wine sales, tastings and tours, with innovative cuisine to complement its award winning wines. It’s known for

Wonderful food fabulous wine and great service! I just have one issue which I have experienced before and have heard another customer comment on it as well and of all the complaints this is minor but needs to be mentioned as it’s spoils a perfect...experience!! It’s THE STEAK KNIVES! I can’t understand how you can have a wonderful tender eye fillet steak which was cooked to perfection being marred by a steak knife that you have to saw your steak making you feel it isn’t tender when it actually is beautiful is such a contradiction! Difficult to get your mind around actually but had to be mentioned.More

I took my daughter to my favorite restaurant, Marsden Estate. My favorite lunch at the vinyard is seared ahi/tuna. However, this time, the tuna was served in a chopped salad. It was excellent.

It was a lovely setting looking out over the vines. It was a shame the weather was not better as it would have been a nice walk around the gardens. The food was amazing I would highly recommend

We stopped in for a wine tasting and lunch. The wine tasting wasn’t enjoyable as the lady serving us didn’t explain anything about the wines and literally as soon as we had finished our mouthful she asked “what next” BUT the food was outstanding. A...great selection to choose from and it was absolutely delicious. The place has a lovely setting looking out over the vines and pond.More

This setting was beautiful, tables are setup under cover outside with beautiful views of the pond/river, vineyard, and there was plenty of seating outside in gorgeous garden setting. Service was friendly. The food was delicious, fantastic flavors, we enjoyed our lunch and definitely worth a...visit if you in KeriKeriMore

We arranged a birthday luncheon for 11:30AM because their signature ahi dish is in so much demand, we didn't want to arrive late to find it gone. Luckily, there were 2 servings available, one for the birthday gal, and one for me! I have lunch...at Marsden Estate two or three times a year for special occasions, and I have never been disappointed. The setting is delightful, the service is lovely, and the food (especially the seared ahi tuna) is the very best part. Did I mention that the wine is lovely. We split a bottle of wine and a bottle of soda water (wine coolers on a hot summer's day) and really enjoyed both food and drink. Did I mention the desserts were fantastic - especially the sticky date delight with ice cream.More
