Went to celebrate our aunts special birthday on Friday night. Never fails to impress - fabulous degustation meal - 2 Devine fish courses, beautiful pate and chicken, pork dish, beef was amazing, and 2 perfect desserts to finish paired with some cracking wines (in my...view the best value degustation around), great atmosphere, good service.More

I had dinner here with two friends on a Friday night. It was very good, despite the fact that lockdown had been announced a couple of hours earlier and we all (including staff) had to wear masks. Because of that, it wasn’t perfect for me....But the service and the food were absolutely fabulous. We all had empty plates after each of the dishes. It was nicely paced, given that we had seven courses. I would love to come back and do it again with the wine pairings. A wonderful experience, thank you Clarke’s.More

The staff went carefully through the degustation menu and paired wines. We were delighted with the food and thought the meal was one of the best we had in a long time. The presentation was wonderful and so were the flavours. The quality of the...food was first class, and so was the service.More

That was an interesting discussion. Michelle and I just started going through the best restaurants EVER. 1st is Per Se which is Michelin 3 star in New York. 2nd was a Michelin recommended in Berlin called Bieberbau. We talked some more and after a moment...of silence both came up with Clarke’s ..... World classMore

Firstly the degustation menu was pretty delicious. But the servings are very small. We went there for a Valentines dinner and were seated smack bang in the middle of the front room. For me there was just no atmosphere. The wine pairing was ok, but...some glasses were very small. Overall just ok, but if you are going check where they are seating you, before you commit.More

Celebrated my partners birthday here. I chose this restaurant based on the reviews and pictures. We really enjoyed the different tastes, textures and appearance of the food. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Bit of a shame the restaurant does not take advantage of...the amazing waterfront views but that what I was there for. Ensure you are willing to be there for around 3 hours to get through the seven courses. Overall a great experience and amazing touch giving my partner flowers at the end of the night for her Birthday. Very unexpected and appreciated. ThankyouMore

We came in for the 7 course Dego station and wine pairing and had a great night. As always the food was amazing, the pork belly was to die for and the deserts were probably my favourite part. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable and...really helped to make our night special. Overall a great night at our favourite restaurant !!!More

Well, I will clarify, I didn't actually have a experience per se. Booked on their recommended website, 1 month in advance and received the confirmation email of my booking, great. Turn up Saturday night looking forward to the Clarke experience and was told, sorry no...booking under this name, and it was informed it was supposedly cancelled twice. By me. Hmm interesting, I never cancelled, nor got any confirmation emails/calls to that effect from Clarkes or the 3rd party booking site. So my birthday went to crap instantly. So who cancelled the booking and why, and twice. The website or the restaurant. Was I bumped of, who knows ??...UNIMPRESSED. Im thinking Clarkes must have bumped me of for mates or larger booking, no other explanation really. Maitre appeared embarrassed, I was mighty pissed, left...Peruginos took a quick booking and circa $250 Never had this happen anywhere else, sort it out folks, shouldn't happen at a restaurant of your caliber. My husband and I have visited Clarkes four times over the past three years. Each time it was for a special celebration of some kind for our family. For three of those visits, we have felt very special and the venue was perfect for the...celebration. We have always loved Clarkes and have always recommended it to anyone we know. However our visit last week was very disappointing and left us vowing to find somewhere else to celebrate special occasions. The food was amazing as always, and was not the source of our disappointment. The customer service and lack of attention to detail was why we felt let down. Firstly, I was served a seafood dish when I'd expressly requested no seafood. The waitress appeared to insinuate that I hadn't informed her of my preference when I'd booked, despite her clearly asking at the time if there were any dietary requirements. She appeared annoyed when she took my seafood dish away, and plonked down the replacement soup in front of me when she returned. Another young waitress appeared clearly bored with reciting the menu and the wine descriptors, and looked to us as if she would rather be anywhere else than at the restaurant. Another tried to take our dishes away when we obviously hadn't finished our meal. We loved the hot rolls from previous visits but were told, "we don't do that anymore". No upsell of rolls, coffee, extra touches. Even the wine in the pairing came too early or too late to match with the meal. And there wasn't much wine in each glass! The place was noisy and crowded, music was actually blaring through speakers above our heads when we arrived, the lights were overly bright, we felt like we were at a casual dining food hall at one point. We'd just been down south and had the wonderful degustation menu experience at Voyager Estate. We'd felt totally spoilt. To come home and celebrate our special occasion at Clarkes, and expect our usual amazing experience there, and to feel so UN-special, was truly disappointing. We couldn't wait to leave, and even then had to line up to pay. We sincerely hope that this was a one off and Clarkes just had a "bad night". Or maybe people should just avoid busy nights! Food was 10/10, customer service and that special Clarke's feel? Sad to say 5/10.More
