Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One of my favourite places in the Yarra Valley and always highlight to bring guests from out of town here. The $15 cheese tasting is generous and indulgent with a great variety of house made cheeses. They also have amazing cheese bagels.

Haven't been here for about 20 years. The rustic appearance seems unchanged. Used to be my favourite place to take visitors, but am now not so sure I would recommend. Somehow, the emphasis on trying cheeses appears to have disappeared. We had the $25 tasting...platter, was ok but could have had more crackers. Tried the local cider and really enjoyed it. Service slow and unenthusiastic.More

Cheese Tasting- $5 for 4 pieces of cheese- per person. The cheese potions given were the size of a 5c piece- tourist beware- not recommended.

Ordered the 2-4 person platter with an add on of Prosciutto, this was shared between 3 people. Cheeses were overall good tho portions were lacking on the ones that stood out such as the curds. I personally could have gone without the quince paste( who...even eats it) and caramelized onions of which were too sweet and didn't go with the platter. The add on of prosciutto was dry and quite thick cut. A segment of a baguette accompanied the prosciutto, this was a depressing piece of bread and you were left having to saw through it at your table. Muscatels were said to be included on the platter but were nowhere to be see. Overall was okay but for a 40 minute drive not worth it.More

We always make a point of stopping here for lunch when in the Yarra Valley. The produce if first class and the small eating are is small but welcoming - as are the staff.

Visited here with my husband recently, we were pleasantly surprised. The old rustic milking shed / dairy turned into a cafe was a great idea. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered milkshakes and cheese platter to share. The cheeses were very tasty; was...hard to choose a favourite. Cosy place with large views of the surrounding paddocks; would have been nice to have seen some cows or farms animals. This place is definitely worth a visit.More

Came with two friends. Ordered one cheese platter and one melted cheese to share. Food tasted very good. Service was excellent. A cosy and relaxing place to stop for lunch or tea. The view from the cafe was amazing.

Impromptu visit with our relatives from Wales but we absolutely loved it. We got there on opening which was good thinking on our part. We were then delighted with the first cheese tasting of the day. Trish was amazing in sharing her knowledge about all...the cheeses and we thoroughly enjoyed all of the cheeses we tasted. The coffee afterwards was pretty good too! Would definitely go again!More

This little place is rustic with a delicious content. Don't be fooled by its rusted shack appearance, that's not what you should be concerned about, what matters is if you are going there to have cheese and wine! and its good. We even witnessed rabbits...frolicking outside, so what you are on a farm!. The staff are also so welcoming and informative. Its a little busy place and definitely worth a visit.More

We called in here before closing on a Sunday afternoon. Quant setting on a rainy day. Cheese makes everything better! Service was genuinely friendly. We enjoyed the hospitality but especially enjoyed the cheeses. Ended up buying a few to take back with us to our...accomodation for the night. Definitely worth a visit!More

A lot of cheese for sale. Cheese sampling is allowed however you need to pay. $5 for 4 types while $10 for the entire selection (14 in total, I think). A staff will be present to explain the different types of cheese so you can...make an informed decision. The one serving us is very knowledgeable. Thank you. I love the spicy cheese, I think it was feta.More

As two cheese lovers, this was a must stop on our Yarra Valley weekend. We did a premium cheese tasting, trying 16 different varieties across both cow and goat options. Our expert took us through the different flavours to expect while also explaining how they...were made. She had a comprehensive knowledge and the tasting was progressive, moving through different styles and surprising us with our favourite varieties. The cheeses were so good we could not leave without purchasing a fee to take home with us … which didn’t last past the evening!More

Made a quick stopover to Yarra Valley Dairy on the way to lunch and had a cheese tasting plate. Six cheeses were included, all of them delicious. We ordered an additional serving of fig jam as an accompaniment. Nice to see the views of the...valley with the large windows, and cute little bunnies hopping around. Shop has a variety of local produce, wines, and cheese cabinet. A lovely place to visit.More
