Hunter & Barrel is a sophisticated take on the hunter's way. Where ancient ritual combines with raw elements of nature in a modern setting. Inspired by the communal feast, charcoal roasted fires, open plan kitchen, and complemented with an extensive range of barrel aged drinks. It all makes dining at Hunter & Barrel the social experience. Sitting within the town square in Ringwood, Eastland Shopping Centre Park. If you are getting to Eastland via car enter the carpark through Entrance 5, and proceed up two levels. Park and walk across the town square to our restaurant. We are left of Gradi. With the Summer season steadily approaching, the Hunter has curated a special selection of seasonal dishes to brighten your souls and delight your senses. Start your feast with our refreshing wood-fired zucchini sourdough, wild-caught miso king prawns or our beef rib tacos.

Hunter and Barrel have 3-4 spaces that can be used for private gathering. The manager was very helpful with sorting out the booking, helping us to choose the right size room for our function. There are options for outdoor seating. Parking is close by, but watch the clock as the shopping centre has limits, which if you go over charge like a wounded bull. Speaking of the meat, every time I have dined there, is cooked exactly how it is ordered to perfection. The restaurant has a range of seating for families with young children and is wheel chair accessible. The full bar has a healthy range of wines and other drinks. Staff are very friendly. The venue can become busy, so booking a day or two ahead is very recommended.

From the minute you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff the ambiance of the restaurant is very inviting and cosy perfect place to take a date or friends for a relaxing meal the food is amazingly delicious the meat is cooked to perfection the presentation of all the meals is just beautiful. Food is well priced for the type of restaurant and experience you have. Definitely a restaurant you must try.

Been here a few times now. While the meat (steaks are great) chips are great some things are not so great.
The sides are not. Brussell sprouts were tasteless.
4 out of 5 visits we gave ordered a second round of drinks only to never receive them. Not once but on 4 visits. Really. not good enough.
Also there is a fee for using your credit card. Beware.....
However the meat is good but the other things around it is annoying.

With a family of 12 booked into a private room. Communal condiments supplied. No one enforcing mask wearing in the public areas.
Adult servings were adequate and the food well cooked and presented.
Kids menu left a lot to be desired especially the chicken tender meal with chips. Two lousy 60mm long pieces of chicken and a small handful of chips was exceptionally poor value.
Can't understand why, with the prices charged, that a small salad and chips could be supplied with meals. Disappointing 1st visit for the author.

I visited Hunter and Barrel Eastland for dinner on Thursday evening. I walked in without a reservation, and the restaurant manager Shashank refused to seat us without a booking. One of the wait staff told us that there were tables available and helped find us a table. The manager was not happy that we were seated and was cold towards us for the entire evening. Our section waiter didn’t serve us and we were ignored for most of the evening. The pass master was on his phone while our food sat on the pass.
I’m disappointed that such an expensive restaurant won’t cater to walk-ins on a weekday evening. The staff seemed to be walking around aimlessly avoiding eye contact and trying to look busy.
Nobody checked back on us during our meal or asked how it was so I couldn’t give them feedback that the mushroom pie was too salty. The rest of our order was delicious, however we felt unwelcome and like a burden, despite spending more than $100 for 2 people. Nobody asked us if we wanted anything else when we finished our meal so we went to pay and we were left at the counter for several minutes until somebody finally came to take our payment. Shashank was nearby and avoided acknowledging us, leaving the front counter unattended.
The prices don’t seem to reflect the quality of service, and I’ve heard that they’ll be raised again soon. The staff didn’t seem to want to be there, and I hope that management will give them better wages to reflect the menu prices- this would surely increase morale and attract more staff.
It’s a shame that what was such an attractive and friendly venue has gone so downhill recently.

We were a family of 7 for an early dinner C'mas Eve (table 91). The position itself in the restaurant was perfect, and it was like having a private dinner. Steaks cooked to perfection, the wines chilled well, and the 'designated driver' mocktails are inspired. We'll be back!

Terrible experience with staff. I was short 80 cents ($0.80) on $176 bill. The manager made me to go and get the missing 80cents, which she knew would take 20min. That's the level of service at H&B Ringwood

We booked ahead for my aunty's 60th birthday for a 3 course lunch.
1. I confirmed with Daisy via email that we could connect our Spotify playlist which was not available on the day and very dissapointing!
2. We confirmed a private dining room for a 3 course meal, to then be told we had to take dessert away or move out into the restaurant in the middle of our meal and event, this is not acceptable service!
3. There was only 1 waitress to the 28 guests, she was lovely by the way, however it was not feasible for her to take all our 3 course orders so that they could be delivered in a timely manner...
This contributed to the delayed service in meals and then we were asked to move??? How is that our fault? This was very bad planning and organisation on your management's behalf!!
It then took my uncle getting very upset on his wife's 60th birthday no less for staff to agree to let us cut a cake and sing happy birthday before leaving with no dessert.
Further to this, half of our guests fell ill the next few days . I certain hope food was not rushed and under cooked due to the abysmal management!! But it seemed to be that way.
Overall we were quite disappointed after much planning went into the event to give my aunty a 60th she would love.
I would not have an event here again.

Rump steaks were top quality and cooked perfectly - tender, juicy, flavoursome.
Portugese butterflied chicken not greasy & generous portion.
Coffees could be hotter, chocolate walnut brownie with choc sauce & real vanilla icecream a delicious treat to finish. Staff all had a positive, can do attitude.
The varied seating arrangements add interest and options.
Enjoyed the dimmed lighting, relaxing 80's music & calm atmosphere.
Our first visit did not disappoint, so look forward to returning soon.

we visited here for our son's birthday recently and were disappointed with the quality of our meals. the staff were courteous and efficient with their service with our starters and main meals arriving very quickly. the quality of the food for the price though was disappointing. Flavour was lacking and for the price we expected more.
the steak was average, the barramundi was nice but the sauce was not a good compliment, the burger was very ordinary. the sharing platter was all fairly similar in taste!

Brilliant date night with set three course menu purchased through red balloon. Staff were attentive and pleasant and assisted throughout the evening. Pork belly, ribs, chicken all delivered with amazing flavours. Dessert a real treat too! Do yourself a favour and visit!

We used a red balloon voucher. Not worth the money. Portions very small. Entree shared 6 calamari very tasty & lovely dipping sauce. 2nd shared entree cheese dip was just melted cheese. Main lovely chicken skewer came warm with nice crunchy chips. Other shared main steak but how are you expected to share a steak when guests have different cooking preferences arrived cold, nice greek salad. Dessert what a disappointment bowl of chantilly cream was meant to have strawberries think they forgot to add - waiters were slack. Wont be going back!

Family of 19. Booked private room & Summer menu. Food was plentiful, met various dietary needs & every dish was fresh & totally delicious. We enjoyed wide variety of cocktails, wine
beers & good quality spirits. The service was spot on ...great team. Value was exceptional. Would recommend 100%. Thanks for making our family party something special to remember.

Dined for dinner. I had the half rack pork ribs with salad, coconut pannacotta for dessert & lychee mocktail for my drink. Everything was tasty. Hubby had eye fillet with chips & choc brownie for dessert & enjoyed his meals also. Service friendly.

We were here on a weeknight and walked away commenting how great the service was compared to all the other places we'd been to recently. The attentive staff looked after empty glasses and plates promptly. Add to that - the food was amazing! We had the feast for two (IK think that was the name) that had a bit of everything on it and it was all great!
