This review has been over 30 years coming 1989 but we came to Andamooka in 1989 and one of my husbands highlights each day was an Andamooka sandwich which we had at the Tuckerbox. It consisted of a loaf of bread and a tub of...margarine and a good plateful of cooked meat like span and salami etc You could eat the whole loaf if you wanted and all the marg but you would not get any more meat. I cannot find anything out about it anywhere but it was of the highlights of our visit. We were there when Old Bill from the Ettamoga pub died and the beer came in late for the funeral. So there was for a day or two " A pub with no beer" well we loved our visit to Andamooka, a cherished memory. I did not visit in march 2020 but this silly review insisted on not letting me put in a year which was 1989More
Great sized outback pub fare located in a quirky town. We went for lunch from 12-2pm and can get very busy with grey nomad crowd. Can also highly recommended the Andamooka Yacht Club if your after a cafe style lunch (smoothies, toasties, waffles, cake, etc)...although limited opening hoursMore
Took a break from our regular camp food on our fifo fig to take the drive from Roxby Downs out to this legendary watering hole famous for its mega schnitzels.... Did not disappoint, freshly crumbed with a wonderful selection of gravies and crispy fresh chips...it was absolutely delicious The salad bar also was excellent, with the pickled garlic cauliflower being my personal favorite Even managed to find a "rare" beer, the Southwark Bitter to wash it all down Well worth the drive from anywhereMore
Andamooka itself was an unexpected delight, full of lovely people, a great low cost RV park, and awesome little opal museum, and this fabulous old pub. Food was typical pub fare, in very generous portions (steaks were mammoth!). Staff were friendly, decor great. Loved our...visit!More
have not been back there for over ten years now so not shore if it is still open but if it is great place to have a drink and something to eat
We went for four meals as we were staying in town. The prices were reasonable and great with the amount of food you got. Found it tasty and the salad bar was nice, plus vegetarian choices hitoo. Even though you enter via the main pub...family can come here. Only were here for dinner so can't give you lunchtime reviews.More
Went to Andamooka to have a look around popped into pub for lunch. Staff were friendly amid helpful, menu quiet extensive for such a small community. Our food arrived and was beautiful and plenty of it. Worth a visit if your out that way
Stopped in for a delicious lunch while exploring with local friends. Local place and everyone was so friendly and fun. Nice cold beers and drinks. Large portions. Explore the Opal museum, its great! Even bought an opal ring :)
We come here often, for a good pub meal or a few beers with friends. This is a family run pub and sometimes you get to chat with most of them over the bar. Every now and then they have roast duck on the menu...but you have to get in quick. The salad bar is mostly homemade with a Greek influence, lots of pickles and garlic dressing. Best spot in the area for a casual meal and to meet the locals.More
