Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A very busy cafe with good reason! The coffee was great and there was a very good selection of tasty cakes and slices, plus friendly service.

Great atmosphere and good coffee. The little quiches are delightful and scrumptious. Based on that I ordered catering platters for my mums memorial. Made in house wraps and sandwiches plus locally sourced fruit, and also cheese and nuts. Perfect, great tasting and carefully packed for...the boat trip. I highly recommend La Botiga for coffee, food and catering. Thanks Belinda and the crewMore

Friendly service, homemade cakes and fresh coffee - the crew at La Botiga give me the perfect start to my day (I work locally)! I'd also recommend it as a great place to refuel if you're visiting the area - art and crafts by local...artists are showcased on the walls.More

Wonderful little cafe tucked away in a small shopping strip at the cute little township of Mapleton. The service was terrific with that genuine old country feel. Made onsite cakes etc were lovely. A few nice crafty items for sale in store. Plenty of local...patronage. Little gem of a fined for a coffee and cake/snack. Coffee a bit on the weak side, tea spot on. Loved Dutch ginger slice and Portuguese tart.More

Stopping for morning brunch in Mapleton, we found this quiet cafe that appeared to have numerous locals using. We enjoyed our coffee and homemade pastries, as they were yum!

All I can say about the poor reviews of others is that it has never been my experience at this gorgeous little cafe in Mapleton. All the food is cooked in-house, no mass produced, frozen, airline-tasting pap like you get in so many other (often...more expensive) eateries. On Saturday we opted for the fresh-baked apple and raspberry muffin for morning tea - delicious, and returned for lunch: mini quiche and beef and mustard sausage roll with Greek salad - all fresh, all tasty, even the tomato sauce was home-made. The coffee is never less than excellent and the service is friendly and efficient. Honestly, when you tire of the mediocre maelstrom of Montville, head for the haven of La Botiga. Or maybe not - after all, I don't want to be fighting crowds of people on my next visit.More

We stopped by this quaint little deli after walking Kondalilla Falls. It’s decor is quite rustic and minimalistic, but it has some lovely local art work adorning the walls and piles of magazines on the communal table. What I loved was that all their food...was made from scratch - even their chai. My husband and I shared a pork, fennel and apple sausage roll (it was enormous). It was served with a generous portion of yummy, chunky home made tomato sauce/chutney. I am not a sausage roll and sauce kind of girl, but it was delicious - to be honest, the best I’ve ever tasted. Apparently, the menu changes because they constantly experiment with different ideas, so I’m not sure that this would be available next time, but I’ll happily go back to see what other food adventures they concoct. The service was also exceptionally friendly, warm and efficient. Overall, a really nice experience.More

My mother lives in Mapleton, she said this place is super popular with locals early in the morning. I guess tastes are different in Mapleton.... my coffee was so bitter, really not very nice to drink at all. Such a disappointment! Their food in the...cabinet looked really tasty though, and the artwork and reading materials made it a fun cosy place. It’s such a shame about the coffee, it really makes or breaks a place.More

This cafe in Mapleton is just a delight. We live locally and never miss an opportunity to drop in for coffee, tea and a snack. The staff (Sarah & Esther, sisters, the owners, at weekends; or Tash & Emily during the week) are delightful, friendly...and provide excellent service. The food - frittatas, stacks, etc is home-made, fresh and delicious and the coffee and tea are simply the best around. The place is always full of welcoming friendliness and laughter and, all round, a lovely atmosphere - highly recommended. Jane & NickMore

La Botiga offers deli style light meals of mini tarts, various filled turkish bread toasties, salad and tempting little sweets treats. Most of all ... the COFFEE! Superbly crafted by Esther or Sarah (co owner sisters). Top it off with one of their sweet treats...such as a caramel slice, choc brownie, or power bliss ball to accompany the smooth coffee. The cafe is decorated with local artworks & buzzing with noise from the locals that are a testament to the friendly sisters & their great coffee.More

Went for a bite with a friend who is a local cafe owner herself. Slim pickings in the display cabinet; we chose a salmon frittata. I enquired about the chai tea (yes, in some cafes they serve the godawful chai syrup or powder) and received...a curt reply. Throughout the whole transaction and service not one smile ... oh dear! Frittata was delicious but strained service and hauling a garbage bag through the middle of the caf just isn't my cup of chai tea.More
