This is our go to cafe in Bargara. Nothing compares. The owner Joey and his lovely staff members + the delicious and well priced menu always make our time there memorable. My children like to visit as much as we do for both the waffles and the fact we can take our dog along for gelato as well. I highly recommend the corn fritters for breakfast with southern fried chicken on the side, and my husband, who is vegetarian can't get enough of the nasi vege bowl. We've also been to a couple of pizza night's now over the school holidays, which was a fun, well priced, family night out.

We had brunch at the Windmill, coffee was best I have had on this holiday. Food was served up pretty quickly and was very good as well, the corn stack was a great light meal. Only complain was the damn flies and I am aware that you get the occasional fly when you eat outside but spend the whole lunch trying to prevent flies landing on food or in coffee.need to invest ina few traps.

I can’t rave about this place enough! The staff are amazing, service is always exceptional, and the food is the best you’ll find in Wide Bay. (My favs: the coffee, Snickers bowl, nutter butter smoothie, Windmill stack, corn fritters... the list goes on!) The setting is quaint, very child-friendly and the kind of place you could sit for hours without knowing where the time went. I love that The Windmill grow their own herbs, that they have friendly native bees in the garden, that they have a kids corner full of toys, that they support small & local businesses and that they have a designated selfie window - #instafabulous! The Windmill also do all they can to be environmentally friendly; their “swap a bucket of beach rubbish for a free gelato” is an amazing initiative. It’s always a pleasure to pop in as a local &/or to bring friends and family from out of town - everyone I know who knows The Windmill loves The Windmill! Their recent Gold medal win was truly deserved. I’m thankful to have such a great cafe in the town I live in, I’d recommend it without hesitation.

What is it with Bundaberg hiring backpacker style staff who just don’t give a hoot and make you feel like an inconvenience. Every time at the windmill we witness so many people turned away from 12:30 when kitchen closes at 1pm. Hours aren’t good. You can’t get a seat and they just don’t excel. I feel for the chefs who carry this whole place. But bravo. Because your food is always spot on. Today’s pics açaí bowls at $19 each

I ordered poached eggs & bacon, served with toast and cherry tomatoes with a latte. The eggs were cold and very over cooked. The bacon was horrible, I suspect it had been recycled from the previous day along with the salad leaves which were very limp and the latte was weak and cold. Definitely won't be back.

I had been looking forward to visiting leading up to our Bundaberg visit for several days after finding this cafe on social media. The location is a slight letdown, I know that can’t really be helped, but the ice cream that we came searching for was the low point. The display case was frosted over making it quiet hard to see inside. However what we could see was large amounts of ice on the top of all the tubs of ice cream and a small child inside poking the ice cream with his finger. Needless to say, we chose not to stay and bought ice cream around the corner instead.

The young woman who served me on my first visit was so kind and accommodating that I went back every day during my stay in Bargara, sometimes alone, and sometimes with family. As well as wonderful friendly service, the food is divine and there is a great selection of drinks, including some very tasty kombucha. Highly recommended and I can't wait to return.

After a Sunday morning sleep in, we got dressed and headed out to find some brunch. We went to the Windmill Cafe where we both thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks. The Windmill Cafe is located under the Big Windmill in See Street and is hard to miss. You will need to call ahead to book - we were lucky to get a table and lots of people were being turned away as they were booked out. The staff we encountered were a bit hopeless but they seemed new and managed to get the job done in the end.

Great food, great service, pleasant outdoorsy but shady (or sunny if preferred) seating with most undercover but no actual indoor seating. There was always a beautiful breeze to be found here as with most parts of Bargara so it was never too hot. Might need to book on a weekend or during school holidays for the peak breakfast times, as this is most certainly the prime cafe in Bargara as is shown by its popularity. Forget Ricks with its mediocre food and mediocre service, the Windmill Cafe is the place to eat breakfast or lunch in Bargara! Be aware that they close at 2pm so have an early lunch rather than a late lunch, and if you order the açai bowl or the dragonfruit bowl you will be blown away both by the ten or eleven different fruits in them, by the magnificent arrangement of said fruit, but also by the SIZE. You may want to share with a friend on this one. My favourite freshly squeezed juice was the Rest and Restore, my husband's was the Glowing Goddess (yes, that's him for sure), but the mango smoothie also deserves a mention. Favourite breakfasts for me were the corn fritter stack and the smashed pumpkin, but all our breakfasts here were good. We were in Bargara for two weeks and ate at the Windmill for either breakfast or lunch about every second day. Delicious!

Been here last year as we were about to leave for the UK. Impressed by the open air and vista. Bargara is a great place, a little gem. The place has a delightful menu, from all dat breakfast (up until 2). Fish dishes, lovely salads, drinks galore. All served with a smile. Really enjoyed eating in their gardens, bending served by the owner, great food. Fish and chips great, served with battered prawns.

The cafe is stylised as a windmill. It is very leafy in its garden seating area and quite cool. Noting so many positive reviews I can only presume they had an off day when we visited, the coffee was cold and the cake dry and crumbly. I think it is still worth a visit for the atmosphere and as I said, perhaps just an off day.

Our first time visiting Bargara and I chose this cute cafe for breakfast with hubby and son. Fabulous spot, with tables on a deck and lovely outdoor tables dotted around gardens. The menu is interesting, and offers yummy choices such as corn fritters and Belgium waffles. There is a pretty looking cabinet with gorgeous looking cakes and slices. Prices are not cheap, but the food and drink options are delicious. This is the type of funky cafe I would expect to find on the Sunshine Coast, so I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely would return.

The food is really good and nicely presented. It gets busy really quickly because it's so popular! The cafe is situated in a garden-type setting that allow children and dogs. If you don't like dogs or don't like children running around loudly and playing on nearby toys while you're eating, it's probably not the place for you. It's such a nice spot, but would like to see improvements on customer service! :)

The Windmill Cafe is a unique cafe with a great garden setting. We ate there several times and each meal was both delicious and well presented. Special mention though to the service. The owner of the cafe was very warm and welcoming and the staff were just a cut above. Highly recommend.

Stopped in for breakfast on the advice of sister-in-law and was delighted with the best breakfast I've had in a long time. The "Chicken Waffle Benedict" was something I've never heard of it seem anywhere else and it was amazing!! Highly recommended. The coffee was good but not great and the service was really friendly and quick despite the obvious popularity of the place. The White experience was just fantastic.
