We were getting hungry as we approached Merimbula. It was busy for a Tuesday! The staff were friendly and efficient even though busy. We enjoyed our Buddha Bowl and Vege burger! YMMV

We often stay in the Candelo area and the cafe is always a major attraction for us. Consistently good food and coffee.....!

saw all the reviews and Expected more. Didn’t expect a sausage roll would cost $7.00 hamburgers whilst tasty you would expect them to come with fries for the $16 price tag but didn’t and chips cost extra $$$ . For a country town cafe I...thought it would of been better value than this? Obviously targeting the country drive tourism trade apposed to the local trade. I can however recommend the coffee and the service.More

You don’t really need a reason to visit Candelo - the valley drive and town itself are lovely enough - but if you did, the General store cafe would more than justify the detour. Fine light food, v good coffee, good prices and really delightful...staff. Can’t fault it.More

Went here twice over two days, we just loved it ! Friendly staff and delicious food in a peaceful setting. All cafes should be this good. The pulled pork wrap with homemade sriracha mayo, OMG go there now !

We took the short drive to Candelo on a recent short break to Tathra. This cafe has nice food and coffee and a good atmosphere. I would recommend anyone holidaying in the area take the time to go and visit Candelo.

After a 3 hour drive through the National Park from Tumut, we stopped in Candelo and found this lovely cafe and general store. We ordered lunch which is all homemade here and sourced from local produce. The menu is interesting and our food and coffees...were delicious. Two local brothers run the cafe and l would highly recommend a visit.More

You can't rate this place too highly. It's in the middle of nowhere, and it would compete with (and excel against) any "high street" eatery in any major city in the land. Great service, gorgeous authentic country feel venue, and food to die for. I...hate large menus trying to cater to everyone. Here you get a limited selection of food done to perfection. Everyone in our group (kids, vegetarians, vegans and carnivores) loved their meals. This is a 100km detour sort of venue. We spent the best part of an hour return out of Merimbula visiting (on a tip from a local), and we were not disappointed. We will make a detour on our way out of town so we can drop in again.More

There's not much more in Candelo than the General Store and Cafe - but you don't need anything more for a good lunch. We stopped in this tiny village about 30 minutes inland from the ocean to catch up with an old friend. Having eaten...here once before, I was eager for my wife to enjoy the experience. We sat out in the sunny courtyard with their Buddha bowl and their excellent house-made sausage rolls washed down by fresh juice and first rate coffee, feeling the bustle of the world beyond Candelo's rolling, tree-clad hills just fall away; nourishing in every sense.More

Had breakfast and a couple of coffee stops during our recent visit to the area and highly recommend a stop over. Good coffee and tea along with cakes and good breakfast spread with friendly staff. Very enjoyable
