Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Perfect spot to get a good taste of the indonesian kitchen. The owners are quite experienced, while they earlier had a restaurant in Tilburg. There it was quite well known since it was there for 30 years. Apperently they started in Roosendaal when they left Tilburg and the taste is still phenomenal.
Everthing is well spiced, and comes in sufficient quantity. Dishes are well and fresh made. When you want to try the indonesian kitchen (and hospitality) this is a great starting point!

Excellent food ! As always food tastes delicious, never seen other than a full house. Service is fast, waiters are friendly, a joke is nice to a certain level, don't overdo it.

In a word great, good service despite shortage of staff. Smooth, friendly and tidy, a waiter who knows his trade. We had a delicious meal of good Indonesian cuisine. Friendly people have a small chat with the owner. Highly recommended... We'll be back!

The food may have been good and tasty, but come on... the portions in relation to the price were really not good in my opinion. We regularly get rice tables in Breda and then I go home with 2 full bags for 2 people. Costs a bit, but then you can also use it for 2 days. Now with 1 bag. I asked if it could be with a mix of nasi goreng and bami, but I didn't know how much extra to pay for an extra bowl of bami. Normally we eat for 2 days, but now everything was gone. And we had to pay almost €73 for that. I get that things have become more expensive, but this is just a small rice table for a big price. Too bad!

lots of "rijsttafels", not too expensive, not very beautiful nor trendy, but we were welcomed very warmly.

And once again a perfect evening. Been a while since we’ve been here, but nothing changed. And that’s good. Good comfy food, more then enough.

I had been to Indonesia in the eighties of last century. Once you've tasted the Indonesian kitchen you know it is a far cry from what is served in the traditional "Chinese-Indonesian" restaurants of which variety there are so very many in the Netherlands. It IS a part of our heritage, the Indonesian archipelago having been under Dutch colonial regime for so long. The country now is an extremely attractive tourist destination with countless local varieties of the traditional Indonesian kitchen to suit the most demanding of tastebuds.
The many hundreds of popular restaurants run by mostly Chinese owners cater for the simple everyday cuisine for Dutchmen in the shape of take away restaurants or even "eat-in" restaurants. Not anyting Indonesian at all though.
Every now and then one finds a little gem like this recently opened restaurant, a truly Indonesian kitchen serving us the traditional dishes we know (for those who have been there)!
Dutch influence comes in the shape of the "Rijsttafel", an amazing array of little dishes with just about everything the Indonesian kitchen has to offer. This was arrived upon by the Dutch "colonials" who couldn't decide on what particular dish to choose and ordered "a bit of everything" from the kitchen. Order this "Rice table" and you will be surrounded with an amazing choice of meat, stews, skewers, satay, vegetables in sweet - sour dressings and the rice is just the basis of it all. Rice table really is the wrong name as rice certainly isn't the most important ingredient. White rice, fried rice, yellow (saffron) rice, it's all there. Bali Baru, (New Bali). The Lam family have a lot of experience as they've run a similar restaurant somewhere else before but wished for a new experience. Speak a few words of Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) and feel at home in Indonesia. The smell and taste of the Indonesian kitchen can be found in Roosendaal in this jolly nice restaurant. Selamat Makan!

We took both the hot and the mild Indonesian rice table and all dishes were authentic and delicious. Together with Bintang beer It was very enjoyable and we left having eaten slightly too much. Price quality ratio was good and we will definitely add this restaurant to our favourites and visit again soon. Such a joy having a good Indonesian restaurant in your home town!

This restaurant situated at the far end of the Market Square. The interior design in this place is cool and niche!!
Here is like Mom's kitchen served with tender love! The satay and the sauce was to die for!
The quality and quantity of the food is just EXCELLENT. I would recommend to anyone anytime!!
