Probably the best dining experience in Canton Glarus in a traffic-free environment of magical Braunwald. Ideal place for a family or friends get together to unwind and enjoy Swiss culinary delights and breathtaking views of the valley and the mountains. Two horse open sleigh anyone?

table for four taking the four course tasting menu. Actually, 3 courses would have been plenty as each plate is filling. Highlight for me being the apple & wasabi soup - very unusual but worked ! Service is excellent. Prices are astronomical to say the least. Think 3 Michelin stars in central London (but not of that quality)!! One criticism... More

We spent an amazing evening in the Ahorn restaurant! It is a really nice mix - in both ambience and menu - of a typical mountain restaurant with a 5 star hotel one. It is somehow relaxed and casual and refined at the same time. The starters and the main dishes were excellent. We were less impressed by the desserts... More

I had ordered the evening's special (fish) and was served a different fish altogether, because, as the chef stated as he set the plate in front of me, the original fish did not look as he would have expected it to so he changed it. The subsitute was delicious and prepared to perfection. He even came by shortly thereafter to... More

Finally a great hotel anc restaurant in the wonderful, car-free town of Braunwald. Having watched its construction by helicopter during last summer, today i had the pleasure of having my first lunch at the Ahorn... And it won't be the last. The quality has been excellent, and the price absolutely reasonable. The architectural style absolutely fitting the little mountain town,... More
