Great locals spot. Very good bartenders and draft beer options. Easy parking. Near ODU. TVs and always a game to watch.

I've dined here a dozen times as it is one of my husband's favorites. I find it to be overpriced and iffy on taste and serving portions. My last visit was Friday, February 10th. I ordered blackened catfish with collards, salad, and cornbread. The salad was plated with the fish which I found odd. The fish, while delicious, was one... More
I had lunch at Chow with Old Dominion University colleagues. We were greeted with a smile and seated promptly. It was my first time eating at Chow and I was impressed at the start. This is a very casual eatery with blackboards on every wall announcing the specials and drink lists of the day. They have many local beers on... More
Went after work with a bunch of coworkers and out-of-towners. Shared the Pimento Cheese plate which was a wonderful appetizer enough for 4-6 people (we had 8 people). Everyone had a drink or two and an entree. I had the black bean burger which was good. Everyone loved their food. Atmosphere was nice, not too loud.
Visited Chow for a work lunch and thoroughly enjoyed myself! Our server was fantastic. She was prompt, courteous and was quick to attend to our large party. Located on Colley Avenue right before the Jamestown Crescent Bridge, getting in and out of the restaurant was no problem at all. The decor was what you would expect of a Southern Cuisine... More
Ordered the pork belly special. The pork belly itself was not bad, but nothing sensational, actually loved the stew featuring sweet potato, cranberry, and kale more. I could just eat that stew any time, it was delicious! Tried a bite of my husbands flat steak with mashed potatos and mushroom gravy, that too was fantastic!
Had the flat iron which was good- it had a really tasty rub (ground black pepper and coffee) plus the fried okra and fried pickles were good. We were here with a really big group but the servers kept on top of everything and were super helpful.
Great restaurant for comfort food; I had shrimp and grits: tasty and spicy excellent service, large enough portions for doggie bags, large selection of craft beers Casual and family friendly
The food was tasty. I had the BBQ plate, with Carolina BBQ pulled pork, corn bread, coleslaw, and mashed potatoes. Others in my group had country fried steak, meatloaf, and fried chicken. Everyone liked their meals. Restaurant has a decent selection of beers; large selection, I would say. Nice selection of beers from local breweries in Virginia, as well. Also... More
