Visited for a late lunch. Very simple menu, but the food was very good. It is run by a group of people who are hearing impaired, so it is totally a worthwhile cause.

Food was good, people were friendly when we reached out. Others here have mentioned that there wasn't much interaction and I can see how that could be true if the customer doesn't choose to interact. Especially if the staff is sight or hearing impaired. Good quality merchandise. Good "story" but a business first and foremost and they do well fulfilling... More

The best thing is that we had a great breakfast! The cafe is run by deaf people who don't see any reason why that should make any difference to the service. I wish I had their fortitude and tolerance.

My boyfriend and I came here for drinks on two occasions: smoothies, coffee and cold tea. Besides the value for money, the staff are friendly and welcoming and what a great idea, they even have a Facebook page where they upload daily posts to teach you sign language. I believe the cafe has just reopened after some redecorating, with interesting... More

This is a cute place to check out for breakfast or lunch. The staff is deaf and the restaurant is run by hand gestures and pictures. The menu is simple but the food is good. And cheap! Huge hammocks to relax in. Nice place If you need to get work done as its quiet and free wifi. They close at... More

This restaurant is featured in many guidebooks which will give you a complete and accurate history - our understanding is that it was developed in order to support the deaf-mute community-giving them a place to work and create. It is entirely staffed my this community and also features a shop where you can purchase products woven on the premises .... More

We had here an excellent breakfasr. The place is runned by deaf people. They make also very good hammocks ets. Go there. Its only 100 metres from central park and church la Merced.

The food here was okay but then we were only ordering off a limited menu (where we stayed included breakfast here). The idea behind the place is a good one and it's nice to feel you are helping people just by eating there.

Although I did not have a meal here, I visited with a small group of friends (many of whom tried the smoothies) and enjoyed the experience. The sign language on the menu and walls makes ordering from the hearing impaired staff fairly straight forward. Worth noting is the wifi, massive hammock towards the back, and hammock making shop out front.... More
