They only accepted cash or checks. The building is old and dirty. The chairs were uncomfortable. The country style steak looked and tasted like dog food. The whipped potatoes tasted like instant potatoes. The bathroom was gross. Overall, this was a bad dining experience.

Nothing fancy but great food at a small local diner. Pleasant, helpful and attentive service. Orders are taken, food prepared and delivered quickly. Definitely a place the locals frequent. The oysters were delicious, grilled cheese and vegetable soup were a great value and "homey". Credit cards not accepted.

First time visit was for dinner was very enjoyable. We were greeted at the door by the owner who made us feel that he was welcoming us into his home. Servers were abundant, friendly, and attentive. Atmosphere appeared to be a very happy crowd of patrons. Menu selection was good without being overwhelming. Meatloaf and sides were excellent as was... More

This little place is very warm and has a hint of southern charm. Nothing fancy but the food is outstanding. Everything I've ever tried left me wanting to try everything on the menu. You won't be sorry if you give them a try. Start with breakfast, lunch or dinner. The menu is very satisfying.

This is a buffet with an interesting twist- you order your main entree and then select side dishes and dessert from the buffet. This goes on at all three measls of the day. I especially liked the breakfast. The all-time favorites are there like chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken- all good. There are a few tables in the... More

I took my parents to eat at Country Kitchen today and at first they didnt know what to expect. After seeing old style food they were excited as they are in their late 80's and early 90's. We all got the meatloaf with fixins and as usual, it was great. For my first time parents, they said this is their... More

The food is okay and cheap. The grilled cheese and bacon sandwich is good. I found the open face turkey sandwich to be bland just drenched in gravy. It is like eating at your Grandma's old time cooking without any spices. The servers are friendly. I would suggest Grilled Cheese/bacon or Breakfast dishes. Price is right.

This place serves the best breakfast in town. The prices are amazing and the service is great. The restaurant is dated but you don't go for the ambience you go for food.

The food at the Country Kitchen is plain southern style cooking. It is excellent and a good value. It remains a Lynchburg staple. Good food good value one could ask for nothing more.

I take my father to eat hear almost every week. They have really good food. Has that small restaurant feel which I enjoy. He LOVES the chicken and dumplings, me, I like anything with the onion rings, lol.
