We had 5 people in our group and all got different items from the menu. Each said the food was just adequate, or bland. Considering it is not inexpensive for a deli (total food and drink cost was $55), it was disappointing. On the bright side, the people working there are a delight and very attentive. Not enough for me... More

Went in to try their new location, and won't be back. The service was so slow that the people in line in front of me finally gave up and left, and I soon did the same. Ran into them in Subway! A new location is great, but if you don't staff up to meet demand, you're not going to succeed.

I ordered the chicken salad sub with potato salad and my husband ordered the reuben sandwich. We were both disappointed! The chicken salad and potato salad were very tasty But the portion was so small for the price and I had more roll than chicken salad. The reuben was Not a reuben with no kraut and just a small portion... More

I had lunch there last week, I think they need some time to settle in. The menu is sandwiches, soft drinks, little bags of potato chips, cole slaw, potato salad . . . ordinary. I ordered a veggie, I did not order it hot/ toasted (don't know if that's an option) but was disappointed with a cold roll, a sprinkling... More

Whatever good they have going, is negated by the lack of air conditioning. It is extremely hot in the restaurant. In the fall and winter, it is great, but not good for a summertime visit. I ate at the Kilmarnock Virginia store.

The Dixie Deli has always operated under the disadvantage of water-stained ceiling tiles, VERY old carpet and floors, and a tendency for the old building to be unforgiving during heavy rains. I visited the Dixie Deli and spoke with Grace about her plans for exciting new digs with new construction, a bright and airy floor-plan, a newly re-designed kitchen with... More

It smelled like smoke and the walls were covered with creepy clown pictures. The sub was decent. There was nothing special about it at all.

Been here many times. Very simply sandwich shop making food to order. Have had the hot sub - a hot italian style sub with hot peppers, not too hot, and dressing. Good splurge for non-diet days. Chicken salad sandwich was also nice, not too much mayonnaise. Would recommend to stop in or take out.

This is one of those places in a small town that you really wouldn't consider unless someone recommended it. They have great subs and sandwiches. They are known for their potato salad. Family owned and operated. No grill, everything is made by hand and then cooked on a range. Get there early because sometimes they close early and/or run out... More
