When we arrived we were asked if we had reservations. We didn't, so were told they would see if they could accommodate us. I don't know why it appeared to be a problem, the restaurant was only half full. So we ordered two meals. My husband liked his chicken and especially the mashed potatoes. My meal was horrible. The fish... More

Golden Corral is better. Food was cold, bland, and overpriced. View was great but you can grab two egg mcmuffins on the way in and just sit along the water.

This place is a real treat! I felt like I was transported into the past. Old, beautiful furnishings where you can enjoy an awesome view of the water, have a drink in the bar, walk the property, etc.

Restaurant in the old Chamberlin Hotel ( now senior living I believe is very nice and quaint. Food is good but the portions may be a little small for some people. Located on the 2nd floor with great views of the harbor. Reservations recommended.

When my friend suggested we eat at a senior living center I thought she was crazy. I was surprised. This renovated classic hotel now senior living center has a great restaurant. We had to be buzzed into the building and took the elevator up to a grand beautifully decorated space. We had lunch at cloth covered tables with beautiful views... More

The Historic Chamberlin Hotel build in the 1820’s houses both guest and residents. The walk through the hotel is like walking thru a museum. All of the original wood work is well preserved and you can feel the 1820’s era as you walking to the main dining room and the pleasant aromas of a great Sunday brunch waft thru the... More

The Chamberlin has been around for generations and is now an Independent Living community for Seniors. I've been here many times for different events and every time I see something new or neat that I had never noticed before. Great architecture and incredible history to this building.

Definitely did not live up to expectations for Mother's Day brunch. The food was OK, but not worth the cost. The atmosphere and ambiance was nice, but the rest was a big disappointment. The selection was too small for $45/plate. Food on the floor from last nights service was gross. Service was abysmal. There couldn't have been a single person... More

four friends and I attended the open house at Fort Monroe for Garden Week. The home tours and flowers were lovely. At noon, we headed over to The Chamberlain for lunch which was a fiasco. We got in line and were told there would be a thirty minute wait. Ok, no problem. An hour and a half later we were... More

The Chamberlin has a lot going for it. Location -the second floor dining room overlooks the spot where the James River meets the Chesapeake Bay. The Chamberlin, now a retirement community, was once a hotel on Fort Monroe. The dining room is open to the public, but reservations are suggested. But to the point - the Grand Sunday Brunch is...
