The arepas are some of the best in the area and I recommend the yuca fries as well. The motel that it is under looks sketchy but don't let that deter you from La Caraqueña. Sit outside if the weather permits.

This is a small facility, with perhaps seating for 24 inside and another 24 outside. Because of this - and the small kitchen, it does not take much to overwhelm the kitchen and waitstaff. However, the food was delicious, and not the usual "Spanish/Tex-Mex fare so often found. Really interesting menu items, such as a black bean soup, with duck... More

My first trip to LaCaraqueña, which intrigued me because I lived in Venezuela for many years. This Liliputian restaurant is in the former coffee shop of a very old and very tired motel in the heart of old Falls Church. The great stories about the two owners from Venezuela are not helpful on a Saturday night when they are nowhere... More

We had a really wonderful dinner. The food was tasty and very satisfying. The tropical salad was the best. The waiter staff was first rate very friendly and well informed on the different restaurant dishes.

I would absolutely recommend stopping by this highly unassuming location if you're looking for a great cocktail and some food. The Parcharita ( passion fruit margarita) is my new favorite take on the classic drink and packs a punch! Also be sure to try a few of the arepas, ground corn cakes with various meats and cheeses stuffed inside. The... More

The food here is excellent. The Sabroso salad and tropical salad are two of our favorite local dishes. However, time and time again, the food comes out incredibly slow. Today, for example, we told the waiter that we were In a hurry. Our appetizers still didn't come for 25 minutes. Our sinners, after 35 minutes. Again, excellent food, but....

This is a small restaurant located at the corner of a small, nondescript motel in Falls Church so it's easy to miss. I'm guessing that the name comes from Caracas so it must be Venezuelan cuisine, not to be mistaken with Mexican food! From their limited menue, they offer interesting salads and main courses with unfamiliar names but the description... More

After watching Drive-Ins, Diners, & Dives with Guy Fieri on TV, we just had to try this restaurant when visiting family in VA. It was unusual but the Venezuelean food was awesome. We all enjoyed the various arepas & all entrees were delicious. Only downside - 6 of us were seated at 2 tables which usually would fit 4 people.... More

Looking for delicious food, authentic Latin arepas and wonderful sides --beans & rice, yucca, shredded cabbage salads and amazing margeritas -- this is the place. This was my third visit and food here is always terrific. It's not the same old same old. It's delicious, interesting and fun. There's outdoor seating with umbrellas for an al fresco experience! The arepas... More
