I have eat here many years ago, more than 20, and was a good restaurant, now is old building, unclean, the food test bad, the white rice was not white, was overcooked (incredible in a Chinese restaurant). I don't know how a restaurant in these conditions are serving food to humans.

Has not changed much over the years! Definitely not upscale . Food's ok, but once every few years is good enough for us. An ok place for UVA students to order a quick take out dinner or to have an inexpensive lunch. Not a place you want to take guests to impress them with the food & service.

I think I've been eating here for at least 20 years now! The lady who works up front (an owner I believe) has always been very kind to us and recognizes us when we come in. She even knows our favorite dishes! I watched her son grow up! He has always been there when we've gone for an early dinner... More

You'll probably find that Taiwan Garden has the typical Chinese menu items available. What I do like about their lunch specials is that it's the right amount of food and a more than reasonable price point. The food is simple and nothing more than what you'd might expect from a strip mall restaurant, but it's fast, unpretentious, and family run.... More

This wonderful place is tucked in a small strip mall without any pretensions, however dining here is an experience in culinary delight. It is not a buffet! Anything you order from the menu is freshly and expertly prepared right then and there. The staff has always treated us as friends when we go, which has been quite often over an... More

Taiwan Garden is basically a "hole in the wall." It is located in an older strip mall and frankly very little atmosphere at all. The food is ok and reasonably priced but it's better to pick up and take out than to eat in. It is small, family owned, nice owners, little English spoken. I'm not sure about the MSG.... More

So,if you are going by looks a place, this will not impress you, but their food is delicious. I have had the beef/chicken and broccoli, egg foo young, crab rangoon, egg rolls, triple delight, etc. It is always fresh, always good. Perfect amount of sauce and combos come with an egg roll and drink. Definitely worth the value and the... More

I recently moved to Charlottesville, and this is one of the first places I tried. The first time I ordered, the food was mediocre at best, but I thought it could have been the choice of dish I made. I ordered the second time but the experience was even worst. All the food just tastes like re used oil, very... More
