This is student food, so what do you expect? The mac and cheese wasn’t anywhere near as good as promised, but all the food was fine. Service seemed a bit rushed and distracted, but it was very busy.

We had a great meal here on a rainy Thursday night while visiting Charlottesville. Our waitress was very friendly, gave some good menu recommendations, and kept us topped off with fresh drinks without us having to flag her down to ask. Will definitely stop here...More

This place has been on the Corner, across from UVA for at least 35 years. It has a nice variety of food, light and tasty fare that is perfect for lunch. My personal favorite is the pimento cheese sandwich...the perfect amount of bite!
We were there during the summer, so, despite being directly across from campus, The restaurant wasn't real crowded. The Virginian has a pleasing retro look to it. My wife and I had the stumble down mac and cheese, which is pepper jack macaroni and cheese...More
