The Anchor is definitely one of the best restaurants in the area and by far the best in Wilmington proper. There were four of us and each meal was tasted, well prepared and creative. Highly recommend!! in fact we were there twice in just a week it was that good!

Very extensive menu with some great choices. Freshly cooked food. Have the swordfish it's perfectly cooked. Great atmosphere in the bar. Can also recommend local Vermont beer Switchback. They also provided delicious and generous lunches for 12 of us at a local home where we had a business workshop.

We've been to this restaurant before and enjoyed it so much a returned on this trip for lunch. Visiting the Wilmington area as a day trip is always fun. It is more enjoyable since having found this restaurant to have lunch before returning home. The quality and quantity of food is excellent. As important, the wait staff has always been... More

I'm giving this place a 4 because I've had way better meals there in the past, but if I went just by my meal this week, it may not even have hit 3. DON'T get the lazy lobster. It was $31 but was WAY more stuffing than lobster meat. Pretty much a rip off. Didn't care for the stuffing, either.... More

The innkeepers at our B&B recommended The Anchor and it was a short walk into Wilmington. We sat at the bar and were welcomed by a very friendly & attentive bar tender. She gave us great recommendations and really talked up one of their nightly specials so we gave it a shot and it was excellent, Cod & risotto. We... More

Being from the coast I am skeptical of landlocked seafood, but no more! The Anchor delivered. My wife and I had stuffed clams and French onion soup. Then we ordered baked stuffed sole and I had a cod and curry special. Both were amazing. The portions are huge. We could have split the meal and would have still had leftovers.... More

Calamari was fresh and delicious served with zesty marinara sauce. Steamed little neck clams were clean and delicious. Salmon special was fresh and seasoned rice was delicious. Chicken piccata over linguini was perfectly cooked and very lightly breaded. Prime rib served with a popover and vegetables was a nice size and perfectly cooked. Portions were so large there was no... More
