During recent trip to Burlington, we stopped here at the recommendation of the front desk of the hotel. There was a wait but that is certainly expected on a Friday night, but the server rarely checked on us for drinks. I ordered fajitas and they came out on a regular plate and were lukewarm not on a sizzling hot platter... More

This is our 4th time at Mexicali. We love the chicken enchiladas, salsa bar (watermelon is the best and most unique), tasty sweet cornbread and service. Every server we have had has been friendly. Meals are ready within 30 minutes. For the money, it's worth it! Just plan to walk a bit when parking or get dropped off at the... More

A very mixed experience. The food was good, the service was average at best, especially our waiter who was anoying. The restaurant was not clean, with broken chips all over the floor and dirty dishes left on tables for longer than necessary. As we walked out past the hostess there was no good-bye or come again. Good food, but given... More

I saw several poor revues but we just had a fabulous meal. Tamales and Margaritas were dinner specials and I had a great veggie burrito. Waitress attentive and so good about my request for no onions and sauces on the side. Definitely will be back soon .

Not friendly if you travel alone, always asked if you want to sit sat the bar or at a high table at the bar, don't assume because you are alone this is where you want to eat. I eat there when I am in the area and rarely get friendly attentive waitstaff. I do like the salsa bar for your... More

We keep coming back here not because all the menu items are great, but because we love these particular margaritas mostly. And the Salsa bar, and the bar service. We usually sit at the bar and the friendly, fun service is much appreciated. For some reason, although we are meat eaters, their best quesadillas are the Veggie ones. So much... More

The only reason this place is getting a poor rating rather than terrible is because all of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. I suppose we have been spoiled after living in Arizona for a number of years and being able to cook at home. I relax my expectations for mass produced food but this was just not... More

We visited around 7 on a Saturday evening for dinner. It wasn't crowded, yet it took what seemed like forever to have our meals delivered. I ordered a taco salad, which was boring and basic...lettuce, black beans, a few olives and tomatoes, and very little cheese on top of tortilla chips. When I asked why there wasn't a taco bowl,... We stopped mid-trip for a relaxing lunch, and enjoyed the salsa bar very much. A huge plate of veggie nachos came out as desired, although one of us would have preferred some carne. The Boomer Chimmichanga was good and came as described. I would have preferred a bit more pulled pork and less mashed potato, but the cheese was good... More
