Locally sourced, fresh ingredients. Meals always start with freshly baked bread followed by delicious, inventive cuisine. Wonderful burgers, fish, pasta, soups, salads and deserts.

Unfortunately they no longer let you bring your own wine. But the food is very good and it's wonderful to eat out on the porch and listen to music in the park. A favorite summer place. In winter it's just as good food wise put you are inside.

We had dinner on a very quiet evening, mid-week, when they were still clearing the heavy snow from the side roads. The fireplace was kept ablaze, which added to the ambiance of brick and huge old beams. Service was friendly and prompt. After enjoying excellent bread served with a softened herb butter, we enjoyed a delicious bolognese with handmade pasta... More

Our meal could not have been better - great atmosphere, friendly service - and terrific food. We both ordered the fennel encrusted pork chops and loved every bite. Chef Nathan has a magic touch with whatever he prepares and the menu changes depending on the fresh food that is available. Several weeks ago I had the mushroom risotto which was... More

Consistently good food, if occasionally a little dark of flavour. I have had some excellent and creative meals here - the kitchen is young but skilled, honing their craft well. The service is always thoughtful and discrete. It is always a pleasure.

The food is lovingly prepared. The mission, while noble is never foisted upon you. Better than anything you will find down the road in Brattlleboro. Really worth a detour

The Gleanery has become my "go to" restaurant, especially if I have friends visiting from away. Everything about The Gleanery, from the warm greeting by Liz and her staff, to the charming ambiance of the old Tavern Building to the truly delicious and creative meal offerings makes it, in my opinion, the best restaurant in Southern VT. The fact that... More

We have been to The Gleanery on several occasions when visiting our daughter and then fiancé after they had moved to Bellows Falls a year ago. I always intended to write a review but alas never did. In our 5 or 6 visits to the restaurant this past year we thoroughly enjoyed every dish we had. The menu is always... More

Dining at The Gleanery is a totally perfect Vermont experience. The historic tavern is warm and chic with a clean decor that offers comfort. Both a Sunday Brunch and an evening dinner are presented as a gift for the eye and, even better, a treat for the palate. Each course is original yet familiar in flavor, pleasing both the adventurous... More
