Just left and I am so angry. After ordering 2 rounds of drinks...2 appetizers..two meals(mine was horrible)....and two desserts..they charged us for the most horrible cut of filet mignon I have ever had.. I complained...took two bites and they still charged us for it!! Unbelievable...DO NOT RECCOMMEND!!!

My husband and I found this quaint restaurant by accident and were very pleased with our meal. The homemade rolls and buttermilk herb dressing were outstanding. My husband got the Wurstplatte and I had salmon in dill sauce. Very good, I highly recommend going!

This is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. The Austrian food is great, the staff friendly, and the atmosphere is charming.

We had supper here at the suggestion of my brother-in-law, who is a local. Most food is German Style and everything is made from scratch, guaranteeing freshness. I had the bratwurst with garlic mashed potatoes, red cabbage and sauerkraut, which was good. Atmosphere was a bonus.

The good is good, however it takes an extremely long time. I'm guessing everything is made to order, but go in prepared. We orderedd about 7:30pm and our food didn't arrive until almost 8:30. The entrees come with a salad and the buttermilk herb dressing is very good. I ordered the rack of lamb which wad good, although a little... More

We arrived at this restaurant at 7 p.m. and didn't finish dinner until 9:55--- 2 hours and 55 minutes. This is not because we lingered over the food. And we were a party of 4, so a typical size. BTW we were in a "cozy booth" which meant we were sitting on hard wooden benches for almost 3 hours. The... More

Having not been to Killington for several years, we were happy to find that Countryman's Pleasure in Mendon, outside Rutland, was just as good as we remembered. A proper old country inn with a nice bar, cosy rooms, wood burning stoves. We stuck to traditional German fare: Weissbiere, Riesling, delicious rollmops (pickled herring) with sour cream, good house salad, and... More

The food is always excellent here. The best scallops I have had anywhere. My husband enjoys the Austrian Fare (he spent 3 years in Germany) and I enjoy the chicken when scallops aren't available. My long-time favorite dish, the apricot chicken is not always available, but the chicken corden bleu is an almost-as-good substitute. The salad is always fresh and... More

If you love authentic German cuisine, then you'll love The Countryman's Pleasure. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly. The atmosphere is very quaint and cozy. Reservations are recommended, especially if you plan on dining later in the evening.
