Eating at The Tavern was the highlight of my stay at The Essex. It was a bit crowded and noisy, but the food was quite delicious. I highly recommend the crispy Brussels sprouts, as they were phenomenal! The service was prompt, and other than having another group of people just about a foot and a half away from us, I... More

Living nearby I have been here several times and have never had a bad experience. With a majority of menu items being local farm to table product (some even coming right from the on site gardens) food is always fresh and prepared to perfection. I've had a variety of menu items and have never been disappointed whether I was stopping... More

My family and I were excited to go check out the new Tavern restaurant. We had read some mixed reviews on TripAdvisor but wanted to give it a try. Our experience went sour quickly when we weren't even greeted at the door. Two hostesses were standing at the hostess stand and could hardly be bothered to talk to us. One... More

Went in to have a glass of wine and between the acoustics and the two TV's we changed our minds! Great (quiet) place for breakfast. Oatmeal was buried in fresh fruit. Delicious.

I went to the Tavern a few days ago with my husband and his mother. We were all rather hungry and thought we would try the place out. When we entered we were only the second group in the place. It took a while for our server to appear, but the problem was when we waited nearly 45 minutes for... More

Had a very good experience and the food is excellent. We had a good waitress and we were able to wait at the bar while waiting for a table.

Always good service. Good selection of beers. Bourbon Whisky Burger medium was perfect. The Tavern is busy Fridays 5:30 - 6:30, but high tables for 2 are usually available. Mix of locals and resort guests.

Food and service was fantastic . We enjoyed the fun atmosphere and met locals that gave us advise on where to shop and eat.

We enjoyed the New York Strip and soups, but some of the other menu items were average for a culinary restaurant. They offered a Bloody Mary bar on Sunday, it looked amazing! Very friendly staff, Grace was awesome! We enjoyed some trivia pursuit while enjoying our beverages!

This hotel / restaurant is advertised as part of a culinary / spa experience. I found it to be lower than a local dinner. They need to have truth in menu and not sell grilled sliced lunch meat style roast beef as a prime rib sandwich. Everything I saw was either frozen or from a can. This place needs to... More
