Staying at the hotel. Had dinner and lunch. Had the tavern burger which was very good. Husband had fish and chips which were also good. He really enjoyed his truffle fries. My husband and I are staying at the Resort and decided to try out the Tavern. Atmosphere is nice but really dark. Prices are to expected for it being a restaurant at a resort. While staying at the Essex Resort had dinner twice at The Tavern, enjoying our meals both times. We both ordered burgers first night and they were excellent, although a little messy to eat. Great food, warm atmosphere, friendly staff all lead to an enjoyable dining experience. I recommend it for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Sat at the bar, 4 people. Service was very very bad. Sandwich was great. Probably will not go again because the is the third time the service was sub standard

We stayed at the Essexs Hotel and ate at the tavern 3 times. The first night, a Monday we went around 7 and it was very crowded but we received our food fast ! Great homemade bread-- had a poached egg on rye bread with fruit and some delicious Ginger Tea... The service staff were right on point- courteous, expeditious and friendly.
