We had heard about this from many people as a "you have to do this at least once" for many reasons. It is truly a lot of fun walking around the four different fireplaces getting as much or as little as you want at each one. The hot melting cheese was excellent with the carved meats or just to eat... More

Expensive . But worth the money. You pay for the experience as well as the most delicious food set up in an European stylebeautiful buffet with stations all around hearth fireplaces. Simply delicious. Excellent service . The really wonderful surprise ... A dear friend dining with us has a very strict diet due to a chronic health issues. I told... More

This was easily one of our more fun and memorable dining experiences. It began with the beautiful drive up the mountain to the restaurant, passing incredible homes and scenic vistas along the way. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the very friendly staff and were surprised to find how much the lodge had been transformed from a casual... More

I had heard that this place was really unique and outstanding, and while it was fun it wasn't necessarily outstanding. Basically, you pay $30 for a 5 minute sleigh ride (ride is optional and I think if I had known it was only 5 minutes and only went like 50 feet I would have skipped it.) Then the food was... More

My husband and sons LOVE this place. I jokingly call it the Meat & Cheese and Meat & Cheese restaurant-- but there's actually more to it. While they definitely have lots of meats (at various fireplaces throughout the restaurant) and a whole fireplace dedicated to melted cheese (see pics), they also had delicious salads, vegetables, soups and of course, the... Service was great, but the quality/variety of food was just OK. I like the Deer Valley Seafood Buffet better. Take a bottle of wine! The first corkage is complimentary, the second is $20.

This is a wonderful experience and a unique and fun way to dine. From driving up to empire lodge with all the lights on the trees to be immediately welcomed and seated. The Deer Valley people wrote the book on customer service. We had a lovely woman seat us and explain the stations that we would have that evening and... More

Chose Fireside to celebrate my husband's birthday with our children. We were seated in the main room (I had requested that based on reviews I had read). I would suggest others do the same. It is wonderful to be seated near one of the main fireplaces. We were practically mesmerized watching the cheese melt! Go there hungry! There is so... More
