We stopped by the Road Island Diner on our way to snowmobile. Had no expectations on arrival but had such a good meal we stopped back by after snowmobiling for some homemade cake. What a treat. Do yourself a favor and stop by for some local hospitality you will not be disappointed.

It was so good, I ate here twice in one day. The family went snowmobilling at Thousand Peaks resort and I could not join because of a medical issue. I decided to drive back down the canyon and this place caught my eye. I stopped in and had a grilled ham and cheese (gourmet I might add) while everyone was... More

We were hungry after an afternoon of snowmobiling and stopped in for a light bite before dinner. The food was so fantastic we ended up ordering dinner. The "lamb a dam ding dong' sandwich was incredible, the lamb just melted in your mouth. The hushpuppies with bacon are also ridiculously good not to mention the chili cheese fries with handcut... We had just finished snowmobiling and visited this restaurant. The food, atmosphere and service are great and I felt like I had stepped back in time. Even though we were having a late breakfast, we all ordered the handmade lemonade and were not disappointed. It was the best I had ever tasted. The staff were very friendly and came over... More

It's unusual to find a diner where everything is prepared from scratch, but that's how these guys roll. Really good food, great ambiance, and timely service. As General McArther said, "I shall return!"

We stopped here mid-afternoon on Saturday after snowmobiling. Food was great and we got to meet and talk to Steve the owner. Portions were plentiful, delicious and everything was made in-house, including homemade corned beef. We had the Classic Reuben, Meatloaf, and Thin Sliced Prime Rib sandwiches. Sides we ordered were the chili and the corn chowder. The corned beef... More

After a mid-morning dog sled ride we were ready for a good local place and happened across the Diner. Straight up we knew we had found a winner with a warm greeting from the Staff, new Owner, and a sparkling clean restaurant. The food was an excellent trip down memory lane: Homemade clam chowder BLT on locally made bread, tomatoes... More

We stopped in with our large family group (12 in all) for lunch following dog sledding and prior to snowmobiling. Arriving at Road Island to find this completely restored diner that looked like a train car was exciting! Reading the history on the menu's was fascinating. We had fun ordering burgers, lama dama ding dong, shakes, malts, etc! Then the... More

Stopped here for lunch after snowmobile trip in oakley. Good food and atmosphere. You may have a wait if busy but worth it.
