Wednesday evening "Mexican" food night One of us had the burrito plate, the other the enchilada. Both dry. Pretty tasteless. Portions were large and filling though. Best part of the plate was the rice and refried beans. As another reviewer mentioned, this and pizza are the only game in town of a late evening (7 pm) outside of tourist season.... More

On Sundays, if you don't want a cold sandwich from a chain restaurant (Subway), you only other choice in the small god-fearing town of Monticello is the R & F Restaurant. They serve decent burgers, have a salad bar (which we did not try therefore cannot comment on), have a kids menu, and have other items like open-face sandwich and... More

There's nothing fancy at R & F Restaurant, but if you want fresh, homemade food at reasonable prices, here it is. We were here for dinner twice and we were not disappointed. The soup of the day was Lima Bean & Ham: yummy & homemade. The salad bar: fresh lettuce, vegetables & cheese - just what I wanted. My companion... More

I don't know about any other meals, but we had breakfast omelettes, and they were the best we have ever had - anywhere! The hash browns were perfect - they didn't drip oil nor were they burned, the pancakes were perfect, I have no idea why this place had few people in it at 9am on a Sunday, but the... More

Had a good breakfast here (although don't hope for a healthy option). The food was delicious and the service great. My only issue was that they couldn't provide me with a normal teabag for my tea - plenty of flavours, herbal teas etc but no normal breakfast tea. Fortunately as we were on a road trip we had our own... More

I had a salad from the salad bar. Everything was fresh. Husband had a turkey sandwich loaded with veggies. Excellent. Would go back.

We waited a long time to get our "Mexican" food - white chicken stuffed in a flour tortilla, with a drizzle of (canned) green sauce and a a bit of shredded cheese - all on a salad-sized plate with a touch of rice and beans. Locals who came in after us, got waited-on before we did. They got "extra" sopapillas,... More

Only restaurant in town that we could find. Food was average. Service was fair. Mostly locals eating here.

Monticello is a small town with no chain restaurants. In fact there are very few restaurants. We chose this one based on Trip Advisor reviews. They open at 5PM, and it was Wednesday night which is "Mexican food night" at the restaurant, which is popular in town since at 5:15 we got one of the last two or three parking... More
