So this restaurant is not on the beaten path, which already gets kudos points, but it has some downsides. Although we were one of the first people to arrive, on a wednesday night, when the restaurant opened, we still had to wait 20 minutes to get seated. Unfortauntely, that also meant a limited menu of mostly fried food. The cat... More

We travel through Waxahachie several times a month on our way to Fort Worth and back to Buffalo, Texas. If we stop to eat, it is usually one of the dining choices along 287. This place is off the well beaten path in a residential area of town. I had read about the place and like most things these days,... More

I have traveled the south for many years and enjoy the southern cuisine but I have never had the quality of catfish that I experienced here in Texas. I had the Cajun style and it was a bit of aquatic heaven! Other diners told us the cobbler was fantastic but we just didn't have the room left to eat another... More

We visited around Halloween time which made the visit even more fun! The restaurant is said to be haunted. There was even some mysterious door openings on the night we visited. The 3 generations that run the restaurant were on hand to welcome guests and the staff seemed to love telling the history of the old house that the restaurant... More

Met Dave, co-owner who showed me around this historic building. Read a lot of ghost blogs in the visitors books that go back to 2000, and that is just the books on the table not the one in archive. The meals are typical Texas proportions, huge and tasty. Hospitality was awesome everyone is super friendly and definite a place to... More

Fairly tasty, huge portions. Missed the coleslaw they used to have from before, vinegar based not mayo, vinegar based was super bright and delicious.

I really wanted to try this place. The setting was beautiful and there were four other couples waiting for their tables. Went inside to put our names on the list...until we were told it would be a two hour wait! Two hours on a Sunday at 3:47 in the afternoon?? Wow! We'll put this on our 'next time we're in... More

We decided to try the Ghost Hunt they offer at their premise every weekend in October. Check the dates. It started off a bit unorganized but the quickly got under way. There were interesting stories and someone there to do readings which helped to fill in the time while the other two groups investigated. The amount of investigation time seemed... More

We heard so much about this restaurant that we just had to try it ourselves. We were the first ones there and were greeted by a very sweet young lady. Our table was next to one of the many windows, in a comfortable and charming room. The waitress was attentive and the food was delicious! We both ate the catfish... More

We stayed at a near-by Bed and Breakfast and could walk to the Catfish Plantation, which was very convenient. Service was terrific, friendly and talkative about the haunted part of the restaurant - which we did not get any goosebumps there... but enjoyed the food which is in very large portions. Tables are a little tight but still was comfortable.... More
