Such a neat place with vintage cars turned in booths. Food is served in hubcabs. So much to see with all the memorabilia on the walls. Sandwiches were large and very good. Desserts were homemade and when they were gone, they were gone. A real treat! Pass up on the Food Trucks at the Silos while your wife is shopping... More

We asked for a local place to eat at the Dr Pepper museum and this was one of the suggestions. Looks ok on the outside, but what a cool place inside with very unexpected diner decor!! The burgers we had were delicious, along with the sweet potato fries. I highly recommend Jakes!

We stopped in here for lunch on Sunday and it was great! Many other places are closed in Waco on Sunday, so we were happy to find Jake's open. We only waited a few minutes for a table. The staff was really friendly and helpful. On Sundays, meals are served family style; we decided on1 order of fried chicken (to... More

We always eat here when in Waco. Everything is home cooking, but the banana pudding is the old fashioned kind and as good as your grandmother ever served you. It is $4 a bowl, and one bowl is good, but two is better!

Great little 50s themed diner in downtown Waco. Service was fast and friendly and was pleasantly surprised to receive my lunch on a hubcap.

A downtown restaurant, it has "Texas" decor and food like chicken fried steak, pot roast, catfish, and ribs. We shared the full rack of ribs and still brought a third of them home. Entrees come with chopped salad with bacon and rolls and cornbread, and sides of mashed potatoes, creamed corn, black eyed peas, and gravy are served family style.... More

Fun atmosphere and good food. I had the mushroom and Swiss burger with fries. Burgers are huge and very tasty! The fun car decorations are carried through the whole restaurant. Definitely worth a stop!
