Many people recommended this while on a trip to Waco and staying in McGregor. We weren't disappointed. Tho we didnt eat the buffet our dinners were very tasty especially the catfish.

If you're looking for home cooked hospitality then look no farther. This cafe is warm and inviting with hospitality to rival any establishment I've ever eaten at. This is farm to table deliciousness! We stopped by for lunch and started with their homemade 5 cheeses and crackers appetizer; which was drizzled with their own harvested honey. It is as good... More

My family had Saturday lunch at the Cafe Homestead. I had a great pastrami sandwich. However the potato soup was not so good. The village is great, enjoyable to walk around and see the sights. Our highlight was the new cheese cave. Well worth the visit.

Cafe Homestead (part of the Homestead Heritage complex) is a must stop for the hungry traveler tired of fried foods and processed ingredients. They source their ingredients locally, growing much of the grain and vegetables themselves and even raising and processing their own meats. The menu is deceptively simple, the influences being Southwestern and Mediterranean. The presentation is gourmet, the... More

Food was amazing! Tried Cubana burger and was delicious not greasy at all along with sweet potatoe fries. My boyfriend had the Monterey melt with the Poblado soup and it was all delicious. The service was great as well. We will totally return when in waco again.

After visiting the Mammoth National Park site nearby, we caravanned to the Homestead Café as a group. We were surprised to find a whole village: gift shop, pottery shop, woodworking shop, blacksmith, etc. exhibiting crafts and skills of the fulltime residents. The Café, though, was the highlight. We all ate different soup and sandwich combinations and saved room for the... More

This cafe is a little bit of a haul from Waco but well worth it. We stopped by expecting just lunch and got a great experience! The food was fresh and delicious! We also watched a blacksmith make nails. The gift shop is full of homemade crafts. Highly recommend!

We have been to the Cafe a dozen times over the years, and the food i always excellent. Call ahead to avoid the lines. Everything on the menu is great, and the deserts are decadent. I love the sweet potato fries, chocolate cake and the sorghum pecan ice cream. While you are there be sure to visit the artisan village.... More

Description
Cafe Homestead serves deliciously healthful food in the unique setting of a traditional craft village in our sustainable, organic farming community. We offer grass-fed beef; fresh buns, bread and rolls baked daily from whole-grain flour by Artisan Oven; cheeses produced by our community’s internationally award-winning Brazos Valley Cheese company; and other fine foods, including our all-natural, delectable ice cream. Our fruit and vegetables are always fresh, and we strive to provide locally grown produce. Begun in 1994 as a small deli, Cafe Homestead has grown to become a restaurant serving over 45,000 guests a year and is widely known for its menu of traditional Texan, Mediterranean and specialty cuisines. Before or after enjoying a relaxing meal served by friendly people from our farm community, visit our craft shops, Gift Barn and Model Homestead and take a Hayride to our scenic overlook.
