Beyond horrible experience at Salt Lick. Went with my family in December after recently moving to Austin. We were all excited to try it as several friends and coworkers had suggested it and it was said to be some of the best BBQ. The place is typical BBQ restaurant set up and decor. The seats are a lot like picnic... More

There are two locations and we typically go to the one in Round Rock. BBQ is really good and I highly recommend it but it isn't cheap. If you go on the weekend around dinner time, expect to wait to be seated.

We had a large group meet for dinner before a baseball game at The Roundrock Express. Don't bother with the sides at all and just go for the meat. They refuse to do separate checks so be prepared with cash. I'm in no hurry to go back... Barbq was good, but skip the sides.

Well to start.....OMG! The facility is HUGE, and they are accustomed to getting people in and out with a minimum of fuss. We arrived fairly early for dinner and were seated right away. The menu isn't complicated, but has everything you would expect from a proper Texas BBQ house. When you walk in the door you get watch the meat... More

The beauty of the restaurants of the Hill Country is that they are outdoorsy. Salt Lick is an excellent example! You can breeze indoors or outdoors, even in December when I went. (It was 65 degrees). The music, the vibe and the scene were a lot of fun. The food is hot or miss, my ribs were fab, my pulled... More

Salt lick is way over rated. Went with friends and we were all disappointed. I ordered the brisket plate and half of my brisket was fat. I get that some folks like fat, but I am not one of them, nor was my friend who also got half her brisket plate full of fat. Ordered pecan pie for dessert. Bleck.... More

BBQ was excellent, prices reasonable, beer cold, staff friendly. Order meat by the pound or by platter. A must visit, I will be back.

Saltlick is one of my favorite BBQ destinations. Their brisket is amazing. Can't think of a single bad thing to say about this place.

This is an experience like no other. the flavorful meats, tasty sides and down-home service are all one of a kind. The presentation is over the top awesome as the view of the pits filled with a plethora.of tasty smoked meats. The brisket was moist and delicious, the pulled pork was also very good, but the standout favorite was the... More
