Been eating Texas BBQ for nearly 40 years. The brisket is excellent. You get your meat orders by weight. They always seem to get an extra ounce or two on there. Then everything else is an add on. We live in Roanoke, it is good, but other places are just as good or better overall for less like a place... More

Food is always awesome here. Be careful, your eyes can cost you a lot here. Everything you want to order, only order half, or you will be miserable, it's just that good.

I'm grateful that my friend had seen, online, how this restaurant lets you know the best times to arrive to avoid lines. Cause we slid right on in — after a 20-minute drive from our conference site — and were soon eyeing 16oz ribeyes ready to be slapped on the outdoor grill, watching staff bring over shovels-full of hot coals... Our first time to Hard Eight but not our last - will become a regular stop every time we are in the FtW area. Everything is ala carte so you can pick what you want, including super cold Shiner! Outside was nice and we had live music that night. Downtown Roanoke is cool and so is this place. Best Q... More

I take anyone from out of town to Hard 8 BBQ. It is famous for having a HUGE variety of meat. I mean they have nearly anything you could imagine. You get to walk past the actual pit BBQ cookers, see them shoveling in the wood and cooking up a storm. Then you simply point to what you want and... More

Had brisket and ribs, both were excellent. Brisket was tender and flavorful. Ribs were cooked just right. Side of creamy jalopeno corn was also good. My wife had the sausage and it was very good.

Great BBQ! So fun to see all the meats in the smoker! Such variety! The brisket is wonderful! Worth a drive! On Friday nights they have live music. Sit indoor or out. Great variety of meats and sides. Can have anything from prime rib, ribs, brisket, sausage and the list goes on! Love the BBQ sauce. Definitely worth the drive... More

Everything I've had at any Hard Eight has been delicious. Favorites include the kabobs, brisket stuffed potato, corn, mac n cheese, and cobblers. Really, its all good. Its a little pricey for me, but I always get way too much food.

Ordered the brisket, ribs, chicken and the ribeye and all were awesome, best we've had in a long time. Also tried okra, sweet potato fries, Mac-n-cheese (the kids loved the "cheesiness"), potato salad and house special beans and they were delicious, too. We will be back before we head back home. Do yourself a favor and try them out if... More
