Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Even though there are plenty of nice places to eat, we choose to come here twice during our week's holiday. Both times we had a very pleasant time and delicous food. The children love the "Le Swallow burgers" and also the "Fondue Savoyarde au cepes"...comes highly recommended. In fact, we had no disappointments at all. A big thank you to the team!More

Wasn't sure about the Swallow as it looked more like a bar but how wrong I was! From the welcome to the service and. most importantly, the food i cannot recommend this place more, frequented by locals and tourists alike this is now one of...our two favourite restaurants in Serre Chevalier.More

I don't understand why this gem of a restaurant isn't higher in the rankings. From the time we arrived and were welcomed (without a booking) until we left - full and satisfied - it was a great experience. The waitress was super friendly and helpful,...she just seemed genuinely nice. The menu had lots of choice. I loved the vegetarian option, a kind of stew with spices and an egg, very tasty. The kids said the burger was the best they ever had (even better than Bunsen in Dublin - very high praise). My wife had a lamb stew, also very good. Highly recommended.More

Le Swallow was our favorite place to eat and drink during our skiing holiday. My partner and I drank there 6 nights in a row and ate dinner there twice. Natacha (I think the manager?) has to be one of the nicest people I've met...and she treated everyone who came in with genuine warmth and patience (for those who don't speak French). Even though the restaurant was consistently busy and tables were limited, she went out of her way to accommodate us when we were just drinking and also when we changed our minds and ordered food. The bartender, Armand, was equally friendly and patient and he was always smiling. He and Natacha worked really well together and it just made us happy to walk in every evening and to be recognized and welcomed by such lovely people. The drinks were great--nice mix of "basic" beers (Jupiler) and fancier stuff (La Chouffe). We also were given free shots of local liquors every night which were also great. The food here was the biggest surprise. The place looked more like a bar to me, but everything we ate was fantastic. Even the breads and spreads we got while we were drinking tasted great (that fish salad!!!). We tried some other more traditional restaurants in the area that had all the usual stuff on offer (raclette, tartiflette, etc) but Le Swallow's food was actually the best we had during our trip. The menu was unpretentious with some unusual options and everything just tasted really good (the ceviche was f--king great!).More

Possibly the happiest owner in any town, not just La Salle. Some obvious choices on the menu but well presented and not silly money. Wine was decent and reasonably priced. Duck breast a little over-cooked so ask for it to be rare. Just a really...nice place to eat, without breaking the bank. It's not fine dining but it has no pretentions to be soMore

On our family skiing trip last week for new year we went down the valley to ski out from a differnet lift ... being off the slopes by 5 because it gets dark we decided to have an early supper. What a welcome we got...from the team at the Le Swallow. Whilst they serve from 7pm .. a few delicious local beers and wine made the wait a great one and we watched the world go by - in this buzzy, happy bar/bistro So that evening there were just the three off us that sat up at a higher table to eat - which was casual but fun. The menu was so tempting in a fresh and contemporary way. Two home burgers and salad, with chesse and mushrooms ... carefully bound with local bakery buns ... stunning salad and dressing and naughty frys .... My husband had the sword of lamb - my it looked good. The extra wines were delicious .. and puddings superb .. all served with the twinkle of great sing song staff .. who couldnt have done a drop more - WELL DONE SWALLOW!! Given our mutual love of the area for skiing we were thrilled to add another 5 star moment to our memories. We were lucky to book ... I suggest it's best to do so in advance normally. Thanks everyone at Le Swallow - Happy New YearMore

Nice restaurant/bar. Good music and good food; you can taste different tapas and share with your friends. Tasty fondue if you want to eat something typical. A place to come back.

Loved it here. Staff very friendly. Very busy with a cool laid back crowd. This bar/restaurant had quite a cool vibe. The food was very good. We had tapas and raclette. Ended up dancing in the bar with the locals. Great night.
