Found this place while I was trying to find Applebee's to grab a bite. Nice little place. Not a lot of people in there and they could tell right away I wasn't from the area. Reasonably priced items on the menu, friendly staff and worth a trip if you're in the area.

I grew up right across the street from this place. The original owner, Mr. Neely, was a neat old gentleman and very kind to me. When he sold it I worried that it would not be the same. Thankfully I was wrong. There were even some improvements. The barbecue is really good and the sauce is excellent. I'm not a... More

This is an old time family place which is consistently good with large, well prepared portions. The service is good. Take out can be slow with only one lane pick up. I have never had a bad meal here. No alcohol. Not fancy. Very clean. Good rest rooms. I wish they were open on Sunday.

If you like southern food like fried catfish and pulled pork sandwiches, then I highly recommend this place. They'll even cook your fish special (want it extra done? thinner slices?) Prices are reasonable. The fountain Pepsi is some of the best I've had. The meat-stuffed baked potatoes are good, but a bit on the small side and expensive for what... More

Porky's is a home town owner business with a friendly staff. The food is always served hot and fresh and there's plenty of it. Just remember, if you order the one fish filet plate you get two large filets! (A filet from both sides of the fish, they say)! A great place for lunch of dinner alone, with family, or... More

The sausage is pretty good. Potato salad is real good. Beans just ok. Okra is pretty good. Place was clean with friendly service & decent prices so all-in-all, it's a decent place to eat.

I trusted other reviews and chose the fried catfish rather than BBQ, and wasn't disappointed! A hefty serving, with great sides, served quickly and kindly.

Porky's is really come-as-you-are down home. The delicious Porky Pig is addictive! It's a ground pork barbeque sandwich that is irresistible. Also, Porky's fried fish is mouth watering! Really different, because of the special breading; I haven't found anything like it, and it is very popular - no wonder! By the way, the french fries are also delicious.

Was recommend by a local person from Marshal Texas. She said best catfish in town. Was a huge plate of food for the price and couldn't eat it all. Service okay. Clean place. Old building. Throw away plates and utensils. Styrofoam glasses. We had the catfish and I thought it was too salty. My wife got very sick later as... More

My family lives in Marshall and got a big order of catfish for dinner. The best catfish I'd ever had! The breading is seasoned so deliciously! Yum! I liked the hushpuppies too! I'm told the BBQ it's not as good. It's really just best to stick too catfish.

Thank Maryanne S
