We used to eat at this restaurant during the 1980's when it was one of the best. It has definitely taken a dive. All the food was stale and of poor quality. Hardly any patrons should have been our first clue.

It is a buffet type establishment. The specialty is of course the catfish. The buffet was well stocked with vegetable and breads. The cat fish was breaded and well prepared without the muddy taste that a lot of the cat fish dished has. The service was good with plenty of opportunity to eat your fill.

I enjoy fried catfish, even though I don't eat it that much, and this place does a better job than most of the "upscale" restaurants. Of course, there are plenty of other green and cooked vegetables on the serving line, which are also good, but the catfish is my main draw.

Everything was fried, catfish shrimp... Felt guilty eating there. Salad bar was nice, comes free with entree orders. Nice settings, family friendly. Good stop on the way from Dallas to Jackson MS. Catfish was good, but if they can cook some other ways it would be a lot better.

A co worker and I were on our way to Shreveport for meetings. Not wanting to hit Friday drive prime we pulledin, coming from Ft. Worth we were ready for a break. Nice rustic decor with a souvenir style shop as you enter. The restaurant was to the right and you passed a small salad bar. We were setting by... More

We began our trip to Ore City for a lunch at Catfish Village. Upon arrival, we discovered they were closed on Sunday. So we continued to Longview for some other cuisine. In our search we found that there was a Catfish Village in Longview. The environment is a buffet style with plenty of room to set. They offer a very... More

We have tried this place several times. If your going to call yourself a catfish place, you have to have decent catfish. Pretty low quality and poor cooking. Greasy. And all the sides taste like there out of a box, or have been sitting around a long time. It wouldn't even be so bad if they didn't want to charge... More

Very good catfish, hushpuppies and pinto beans. Had a window seat and had lunch while looking over the pond. A nice change of pace while traveling I20 through Texas.

I like the fish. It's flavorful and crunchy corn meal fried catfish raised in David Beards own catfish ponds. They used to serve two kinds of hush puppies and I really miss the log shaped hot water cornbread style that have been discontinued. It's a large place and a lot of groups gather there. Some of the side dishes could... More

I have only been to the Catfish Village a few times but I've loved it each time. The catfish is so good that I can't bring myself to try anything else. This place is definitely worth a visit
