We have visited this restaurant at least 4 times, the first one we promise to ourselves to never get back again. Second time we got an invitation and our hosts were unconformable with the steaks, even the service is not that bad; last time was...two months ago and the steaks, the juice meat soup was like a "caldo de carne", the place decoration deserves better food.More

I dined here quite by accident as the location I was intending to go to next door was extremely busy for a Tuesday nigh, and I was forced to park towards the back of the building, literally in front of San Telmo. Why not give...it a try?... Best decision I've made in a long time! The ambiance is grand but also comfortable. Seated by the large window viewing the kitchen resembled being at a chefs table, and afforded incredible insight into the Argentinian technique of charbroiling over red hot coals. If you are looking for waiters scurrying about with giant skewers and skewers of meat to carve onto your plate... this place isn't for you! If you want an exquisite dinning experience with superb service and food... you are in the right place. Even the house Malbec and Cabernet by the glass is great and very reasonable, The food however, is exceptional... and plentiful with the 10 oz filet perhaps the smallest meat cut on the menu. Perfectly seared over charcoal as I watched. This is IMO by far the most underrated restaurant in Laredo... perhaps the location behind a popular restaurant doesn't help... but this is certainly one of the best dinning experiences I've had... bar none!More

was a very nice experience as the service was excellent and food was so delicious. The enpanadas and the lomo were by far the best I have had. It was worth every dime we spent. You will not be let down

Had the pleasure to enjoy a quite evening with my partner in crime. The occasion was celebrating her birthday. We were both happy with our dinner plate for the evening. I tried the BIFE DE LOMO CON CHAMPIÑONES 10 Oz. Grilled beef tenderloin topped with...mushrooms and asparagus. My wife had the POLLO PASTORIL Half grilled boneless chicken served with sautéed vegetables and were not disappointed. The place is very nice and cozy. Great place to enjoy a special occasion like a Birthday.More

I was able to have a date with my wife in this place. We loved the empanadas de queso. I also liked the tortilla española. The lemonade is so great because It tasted very natural. I would ask better for a new york steak next...time instead of the rib eye. They also have dessert but we were so full that I could not eat anymore. The service is awesome. I did not put the 5 star just because i think prices are a little bit high but I can understand due to the place is really fancy.More

Upon arrival, this place looked lovely. However, as we got seated, we looked at a half empty restaurant for our waiter who had us waiting for 20 mins for menus. After offering us water, he jumped straight to the entrees - no drinks! It was...such a shame that the waited couldn’t even talk to us in English. We understand it’s a border town but in an upscale restaurant where the plates are nearly $40, I expect better. We were offered French fries with the food! Are we in McDonalds?! Food came out and what a disappointment. The churrasco was really dried out chuck steak. The Halibut fish was like plastic on acidic mushrooms. And, the Entraña was dripping blood; we asked for well down. It was terrible and the service was bad. The waiter had us waiting, empty glasses, and was too busy to care for us. We left to never come back. Don’t spend your money or time at this place!More

My wife and I recently visited this restaurant for a special occasion. I had a steak and it was cooked and seasoned to perfection. My wife had fish and she really enjoyed it. It’s hard to find good fish in Laredo but it was good....The homemade bread they bring out at the beginning of your meal is very good as well. We opted for the traditional Argentinian dessert and that was a good choice. The waiter could have done a little bit better job explaining the menu and such. It was our first visit and wanted to hear a little about the restaurant but his English skills were lacking. Don’t let this keep you from visiting though, the food was good, and this seems to be one of the better options for a nice meal in Laredo.More

As my husband and I walked in, we felt we had left Laredo, and gone to an elegant restaurant in either France or Italy!!!! We were welcomed warmly, and showed to our table!! The service was excellent!! Our servers were Neto and David, and they...took care of us "royally"!!! We ordered wine and water, and were brought to us right away together with bread made there!!! We shared a green salad, and it, and the bread were very very tasty!!! We both ordered steaks, and were brought to us, exactly as we wanted!! I can only tell you, that at my first bite, "there was joy in my palate"!!! Superior, and very fresh meat!!! The fries and asparagus were also excellent!! It is a pricey restaurant as everything is a la carte, but definitely worth it!!! We left feeling very happy with the entire dining experience!!!More

Excellent steakhouse!   We split a 14 oz center cut ribeye and got three appetizers - the Chistorra (Spanish sausage - made of beef for those of you who don't eat pork),  the Provoleta (pan fried Provolone cheese), and Camarones Maclean (shrimp with Argentinian beer...batter).   The beer batter shrimp was outstanding!   It came with a sauce that was almost like bearnaise sauce except with fresh oregano instead of tarragon.   I ended up saving the sauce for the steak as well.  The steak was very good but could have used some extra sauce on the side which they don't have - HINT: my favorites are bearnaise sauce and red wine sauce with shallots or mushrooms or green peppercorns.  Steak sauce may not be authentic Argentinian, but does add a lot to the flavor of the steak.  One final compliment - the bread was outstanding!  Flaky crust, soft center, freshly made.  It came with  olive oil with fresh oregano and chicken pate as well as the usual butter.   I'm not into pate, but the chicken pate was not bad at all.  The oregano in the olive oil was obviously fresh as its flavor was soaked into the olive oil.  The restaurant decor was fairly elegant, with white table cloth (the extra napkin under the main plate and utensils is a nice touch), dark wood, and just the right amount of romantic mood lighting, bright enough to see the food, and not too dark.  Service was excellent, and there is a good wine list, starting with a number of Malbecs, my favorite. The menu has a many other things to try, and this is definitely one of the best restaurants in Laredo.   You wouldn't know it though, from the locals, as there weren't that many people there with us, compared to the Border Foundry next door (which is really  more a place for well-heeled Laredoans to be seen and to socialize in, rather than having really outstanding food).  So let's hope the people of Laredo get out and support this restaurant better.More

Have visited three times. Last visit was party of fourteen and everyone was happy. Menus are in English and Spanish. ASK about each aspect of your order to avoid any surprises. For example there are two mushroom sides; one comes with jalepeño and one does...not. My New York Strip was best I've had in Laredo (big enough to split with wife). Wait staff was good and very accommodating.More
