Considering it was 4 p.m. on a Sunday and not too many customers, it took about 10 mins for a waiter to come by the table by the bar. After placing a po boy catfish with onion rings, took 20 mins to arrive. Food was...More

Since we don't live in Houston anymore, whenever we're near Goode Company, we try to stop by for light lunch. We don't order a meal, or plate, just an amazing serving of their campuchana, it's a large cocktail type glass of shrimp, crabmeat, tomatoes, avocados...More

It is their signature appetizer and the best thing on the menu. It is plenty to share or I get it as my meal. Seafood is very fresh. Great location for a couple or a nice business meeting.

This is the first restaurant we tried in Houston and it did not disappoint. Our waiter gave us a sample of the Campechana and it was so good we ended up ordering one. Service was excellent.

Red snapper and shrimp wrapped in bacon...oh so good. Dont be fooled by the outside, it may look like a dinner but the food is first class. I would go back again in a heart beat.

In a single word.....Awesome! Great seafood. I had the Red fish with a Pontchartrain style crab and wine sauce. It was the best seafood meal I have had in many years. Truly memorable. Service was attentive and constant. Almost too much, but always polite and...More

I hadn't been to this location in quite a while and forgotten just how busy the place can be. Or, the size of the dining area. Fortunately, I had made snob line reservation on "Open Table" and we were promptly seated. We both ended up...More

I had been here in April during a technical conference luncheon and as a fallout went back again on June 6, 2017. In the past, I've enjoyed many excellent lunches and dinners here, never disappointed with the quality of the food, the capability of the...More

Description
One of five children, Jim Goode was born and raised along the Texas Gulf Coast. His father was a shift worker at a nearby refinery and his mother spent her time taking care of things at home. Most weekends, you could find the whole family at the local area beaches where the kids spent their time fishing, crabbing and playing in the surf. Jim loves this way of life and he especially loves the food. So in an effort to combine his fondness for the roadside diners that dot the Texas and Louisiana coastline with his love for the region's seafood, Jim began to explore how he could translate his passions into a dining experience that would ultimately bear the family name. In 1986, he located a passenger train car that looked like it would fit the bill. He negotiated its purchase and moved it to its current location on Westpark. A few months later, Goode Company Seafood was born. The concept was to grill fresh seafood over mesquite, or fry it in refined oil with a thin batter. So, while you'll find signature dishes like campechanas, seafood gumbo and whole stuffed flounder on the menu, you won't find sauces or heavy layers of breading to mask the flavor of the fish. And if something isn't in season, you won't find it on the menu.
