My honey and I have been checking out small restaurants and diners around Texas based on an article that listed the top 15 pies in the state. During the holidays, my husband mentioned that we had never been to the Flying Saucer Pie Company right here in Houston. Every year we see news stories about the lines of people waiting... More

Love these pies. Best I've had. Lots of choices, always enjoy the seasonal ones. My fav so far is the apple, but the key lime, cherry, cherry cheesecake, and pumpkin are close behind. I have a list of more I want to try. Love the owner and manager. Will keep returning here for more!

They are not kidding with that slogan. Their pies are out of this world. Their crust is so flaky and delicious. You can even get pie by the slice. If you need pie for Thanksgiving. Plan to spend several hours in line. Well worth the wait. My favorites are chocolate cream, peach cream (only in July), and key lime. What's... More

Pecan Pie is apparently the 'State Dessert' of Texas! We had some relatives visiting from Seattle and so I found this pie shop online and I'm glad I did. We got a Pecan and a Key Lime and they were absolutely fantastic especially with a scoop of Bluebell ice cream! It's quite a drive for us to get to the... More

No trip to the BBQ Inn just up the street, (see my review), is complete without a few slices, pecan for me and seasonal blueberry or strawberry for the wifeacita. There are always lines down the street for Thanksgiving and spots on the local TV news.

Someone put a photo of fried chicken and fries??? This is a whole pie to go only, "like in take away" place at least it was in December. Their key lime pie is great, I used to go and pick up Lemon icebox pie for my dad a least every other month, he loved it. I have never had a... More

In the past three months, I've had 3 pies from Flying Saucer. And they all have been very different...our first pie was a strawberry cream pie and it was one of the best pies we've ever had. We couldn't wait to go back but I wish we had stuck with the strawberry cream...next time out, we took home a chocolate... More

Great food, great service. Definitely worth the trip if you're in Houston (The Heights) area. The fried chicken takes 25 min. to make, but definitely worth it.

Great little place to get fresh, homemade pies. Traditional and seasonal. They are delicious, and they sell whole pies as well as by the piece.
