This is a very good place to watch sports. The food is very good. The service at the bar is excellent. I visit this location at least two or three times a month. The prices of food are reasonable. The quality of food is very good. The bartenders are very attentive. You are given great service.

Being a Philadelphia native naturally I'm very particular about cheese steaks and hoagies. I've been away from Houston for a long time but just got back and tried Jakes again. New owners, big expansion from the old days. However I am happy to report the Italian hoagie and cheese steak I took away were very good! The big secret is... More

We just happened to find this at by some customers at another bar because they were playing the A&M game. The second we walked in we were welcomed and immediately felt comfortable. The food was amazing. We ordered a philly cheese steak with onion rings. It was amazing. The owner came up to us and asked us if we liked... More

A bit of a disappointing experience. The "Back-Home Philly" was just OK. The boudin balls were not good; we didn't even finish the three balls that come with the order. On the positive side, the bartender was friendly and provided good service.

During my philadelphia college years in the early 70's my diet was mostly hoagies and cheesesteaks. Those days i chose pats over ginos but all thes local treats set the bar hide for the immitators not on the east coast. Todays sandwhich i ordered with extra red chille peppers. Fresh bread, nice meat proportion, generous cheese and tasty grilled onions... More

This is one of the best places to watch a game, have a drink and have a great meal. The food is much better since the new owners took over a couple of years ago. I would say the hamburger is one of the best of any place I have been. All of the food is really good for any... More

I saw from some online reviews that this place had golden tee. I just to moved to the Post Oak area, and needed to find my local dive for Tee and beer. Awesome cheap machines and friendly bar tenders, with the bonus of good fried foods. This has been anointed my go to dive. Get some!

Full of fire fighters and local cops. Food is good, portions are heavy on the bread and not meat. Philly was flavorful but really lacked meat for the $12 price tag. Would return as the menu is huge.

First, the signage says Jake's Philly Steaks so be aware. I've gone to this place for the past 15 years. Absolutely delicious! Along with my sandwich order, I got fried pickles for the table. Big hit. The bread they use is thin and toasted with butter. I don't think you can go wrong with anything you order. And yes, lots... More
